We did an install the other day and after compass calibration the compass is off 15-20 degrees depending on which way the RV points.
I called Motosat tech support and they did not know how the new 'Compass Offset' feature works
Has anyone played with this new feature? Can you just put in the Compass Offset window a correction factor? In this case a +18 or -18 degrees??

Good question. I always wondered what that offset feature does also. The last time I had a compass cal that off, I had to widen the search window to 50.

Don,Try doing "autocompasscal 2" and it will make only two measurements. I have found this works about 50% of the time but when it works its great but when it doesnt it sure burns up alot of time

The compass offset and the autocompass cal are very different things. I don't recommend even attempting the autocompass cal for the very reason that Dave mentions. It rarely works and we have found that even when it works at the particular site, it often does not work down the road and a "real" compass cal still has to be done. Hopefully MotoSAT will see this thread and explain what the offset was designed for.
