Guess it's a little late to worry about this, but I am concerned with the ability of my F2 mount fitting on the roof of my on order 2007 Newmar Essex...
I wondered if anyone had a "similar" setup in a 45'er and they could reassure me...
Short of getting dealer to call factory, all I can do is wait I guess....Coach will be in town on 6/29.

Bob, All 45ers are not created equal. Even each 45' Essex can be different. You need to have them send you a roof plan. If you have 5' of clear space front to rear between 2 of the airs and the vents then you should be just fine. If not...Yikes!

Thank you Bill....hopefully get the chance to show you the new rig WITH the F2 onboard in Kerrville. I'll contact Newmar tomorrow morning.

If they have not finished assembling your roof, now is the time to ensure there will be space for the dish. Even if it means giving up a vent or skylight or something. Even better, before the roof is sealed up, have them run a big, fat, conduit inside the roof from where the dish will sit to the cabinet where your electronics will sit. Makes for a very clean install.

Another thing you need to watch for with the F2 is the height of nearby objects.
I was surprised by one of the F2's I recently installed. The dish operates a little different then the F1 and the raising arms extend well behind the dish when it is fully deployed like when it is doing the dish calibration. It will hit an object where the F1 would easily clear. If you have a tight location then I suggest doing the dish calibration routine before fastening down the mounting plate to verify clearance.

Thanks Don....someone on the Newmar forum on irv2 gave me the email for the Newmar guru in Napanee...someone else also said they'd seen an F1 on a 2006 Essex with my same floor plan...There's hope yet!

FYI...Scott (Dustyfoot.com) just installed an F1 on my 40' RV. My RV has 3 A/C's, a Winegard Direct TV dish (no longer used, but still there), a fan, a skylight, air horns, 3 140 watt solar panels and assorted vents and antennas. I can't imagine you will have a problem.
