Susie, There were also Beta versions of 3.8.9 which were released and if you have one of these versions you need to update to current release. If you have software that is 3.8.9K (or any other other letter at the end) then it is Beta software and you need to install the 3.8.9 (no letter) software.

Paul, SM6 did come back before we left the Wal-Mart parking lot but when we arrived in Indio the modem was down again. I ran registration again and this time it has stayed up. I guess we will have to wait until I move again to see if it remains up. Glad to hear that IA8 is working well for you new F2 in San Felipe. I do have a customer reporting problems (again) with SM5 getting stuck at the TX18 phase of cross-pol. Since others who may be down can't report until they come back up I don't know if it's a local problem or a SM5 problem.

Okay, actually talking to you from the RV. AND we're watching tv. Scott, the version IS 3.9.1 W. (I WAS right about that). And it was some guy at Motosat who told me to do that, not Tim. I have not talked to Tim since he upgraded the system.I signed on per DonB's instructions, however the second light never came on (I waited about 5 minutes...which is an eternity for me). Assuming the second light was the second light down from Power. Maybe you meant the LAN light? If so, it came on pretty quick. I went ahead and hit search.
This first time I signed on it was a whole different story. 8 minutes after I had signed on there was NO sound from the dish. A new one for me. So I manually stowed it and then re-searched. It found it this time. Same thing. No other satellites, just 83W. And so far the TV seems to be working fine. So, I guess it was all for naught. We do have trees here, tho leafless, but it cut right through them. Sorry for all the fuss. I supposed I need to learn patience. As Gary says, a virtue of which I know nothing about.
We are remodeling the RV, hiding all the wires, adding a workstation for Gary and a washer/dryer for ME. (it will be SO cute) I think I will call Arlen, isn't that his name, Scott, from Albuquerque to oversee the RV place moving the wires. Also, would like to get Sat Mex 6 and I am thinking I need to do it asap just to get the kinks out before we head for Mexico. Will my directv still work with Sat Mex 6? Would sat mex 5 work better/ That's what we used last time we were in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta area or maybe the east coast) but we had dish network.
Thank you all and as it stands, you probably won't hear from me till we move this baby!
Thanks SO much to everyone. You guys are GREAT. (Bill, do you remember me? Gary and I were sitting with you and your wife at dinner one night and we were discussing the ABQ balloon fiesta)

The second light meant the second light to come on. That is always the LAN light (unless the modem isn't connected to anything that is on), and that light is at the opposite end of the line of lights from the power light.
It goes like this: Power up 1...2 power light on 3...4...5...6....7 LAN light on.
If the D3 is powered up anytime before that LAN light comes on, you will have problems unless you set a delay in the D3's configuration.
On the controller, the dish won't normally search until after the third light comes on (GPS). That is a separate issue. You can hit the find button before that, but don't expect the dish to do anything until it has GPS.

Susie, That was the software that I mentioned in an earlier post. I would not worry about it as it is even posted on the MotoSAT website for download (but with a Beta warning). Glad to hear that you are up and running and hope that your next deployments are successful as well. Here's how the light breakdown goes. On the MODEM the 2nd light to lite is the LAN. The Power light comes on as soon as power is applied and then there is a 10-15 second delay until the LAN light comes on. Once the antenna is up and pointed the Receive light will come on first followed by the Transmit light and finally the System light will come on once you have passed all of the necessary tests and your modem is on-line. On the D3 CONTROLLER the first blue light is LNB and will be lit even if the D3 is turned off. The 2nd light is LAN and the 3rd light is GPS. This is what you are looking for before you click the Search Button. The far right red Stow light will be lit when the dish is stowed and go out as soon as the dish begins to move. I do remember talking to you at the rally but did not realize that you were you until you gave me the correlation.

Thanks so much, Bill and Don. If my heart didn't already belong to Scott, it would belong to you guys! (Gary, I hope you're not listening) You're posts were most enlightening. This is exactly what I wanted to know. I love it how you two and Scott seem to speak the King's English to us super novices! (as opposed to super novas) Susie
