Have one today that cannot find 119W for Dish Network. It will find 110W just fine. Version 33.6a software. The update I did yesterday worked fine. Anyone else having Dish Network lock problems TODAY Thursday???

MotoSat appears buried in calls.

The problem ended up being a defective Nomad 2.

Thanks for the follow-up Don. It always nice to find the real problem rather than chase through all of the speculation.

I ordered the cable to do the update by computer and got it in today.

I'm able to get all the way through the setup procedures but at the end when I push the transmit button I get nothing but errors.

I even went on line and learned how to put hypertrm on my VISTA computer and the same thing happened.

I'll just keep plugging away I guess, or maybe another communications program?

Turn the controller off as soon as the errors start, so that you can scroll up to the top and see the first error after the fload command. What is the error (which will be all of the lines between fload and the next local> prompt)?

Well, I'll try Don...

First line after fload is a series of 8 things consisting of two exclamation marks, back arrow mark, star, two exclamation marks, back arrow, star.

Second line "error: invalid s-record
third line "Error on record 2

Fourth is the local>40401.....................

From the error I would say there is a possibility that the firmware file is corrupted. If you open the file with Notepad, the first line should be:
S2240C000034B7751B9C18011E12AA4A9A99334A8C7132F61374876C80CC43DA4ABF813220E7

If you don't have that, re-download the file.

If you do have that, problems with the terminal settings would be the best bet. Do you have a copy of the load procedure to follow, step-by-step?

Yes, that is the first line with the exception that the letters are lower case.

I received the update first by email from motosat, and I re-downloaded online after that.

I also tried 33.5 just to get something into the controller, same result!

I am going by my Nomad2 user guide Rev. 02.18.08 and everything is as should be except after i input fbulk, up pops "Erasing Flash Please wait..." Next line "Flash Erased", then Local prompt.

Just got a popup that XP wants to update itself, hope without hope that helps but me thinks maybe a bad hyper program!

Did you put in the 100ms delay in the hyperterminal settings? Do you have the handshaking set to xon/xoff? All critical.

Very weird, incidentally, that you are seeing lower case letters. In the file they are definitely upper case.

Yes, 100ms-check. xon/xoff-check.

I have Podersoa loaded and working right now on VISTA, Looks like 33.6a is loading as we speak, the stars are showing up on the screen as expected, the only problem being is it's taking 5 seconds per line and there are 3457 lines, WOW

On my computers, both 33.5, and 33.6a show lower case letters. Sure hope ther are not case sensitive!

It worked, although it took close to 8 hours, I loaded 33.6a into my Nomad2 using my VISTA computer loaded with Poderosa communications program. Nomad2 now recognizes 110 again!
