When I try to retrieve the GPS data from my D2 controller I get a message 'Could ont connect to controller'. I entered 192.168.1.250 as the IP.
I am sure this is the right one. Pinging works, webbrowser works. Also Sterlings program works on the same IP.

In this thread I saw I am not the only one.
Thread

Any ideas? Don can you help me?

Firewalls are the most common culprit.

No firewall running on these machines (both laptops giving the same problem). Must be something else.

Don, it's the DSMapSubmit which is causing connection problems. DSlocator works fine.

Sorry, I mis-typed. Does D2Admin work? Trying to figure out if it is program-specific, or true for all of my programs that access the controller.

Don, I bought a new laptop with Windows Vista and on this machine the program works fine. It looks to be a XP or machine issue. For me the problem so far are solved.
Thanks anyway.

Check and double-check the IP address. It defaults to 192.168.1.250 but not everybody is setup that way.

Satellite-Friendly web site is where the problem is.
Yesterday it worked fine, today I get.
Cannot connect to the database at Satellite Friendly (although connection to the server was made) please try again later.

If you look at http://www.satellitefriendly.com/ you will see that it is not comming up as it should.
Maybe Sterling will correct it.
