When I had my MotoSat installed, I also had the DirecTV LNB added. I didn't have DirecTV then, but as soon as I got home, I had it installed in my house. Now when I travel, I take the DVR and install it in my MH and is works great. But yesterday, the DVR would not boot up. It just sits there with the Power and REC lights flickering at a steady rate. Dave (the fellows whos place I am at right now, borrowed a unit from a neighbor and it works great, so we're sure the DVR is bad. Now DirecTV doesn't know I travel with this thing, but I need to get them here to either fix this one or swap me foe a good DVR. Will I have problems with DirecTV on this??
I would first be sure my DVR has failed. When a similar thing happened to me, it turned out that the card just needed to be removed and reinserted. I guess it had vibrated or worked loose during transit. I unplugged, removed and reinserted the card, then pushed the reset button.
If you have tried all that, then it may indeed be bad. I don't know why you would have problems getting it replaced, but I will let others who know better answer that part.

I have received my new DirecTV DVR and am attempting to get it up and running. During the setup, it asks for "Dish Type". I have the F1 dish with a single LNB on the BOW. Does anyone know what I should be setting as the "Dish Type" during the setup? I've tried all 14 options, and it keeps saying that is is verifying the configuration, but is fails saying that it can't find the satellite. Any ideas?

No matter what internet satellite the F1 is pointed toward the BOW must be adjusted to point to the DirecTV 101 satellite. For 83W that means the BOW must be set to mark 15 with the "A" bracket.

you have the correct bow bracket, however you need to move the lnb so that "15" appears in the little windows on either side of the lnb bracket.

OK, thanks again for the info. I moved the LNB to the 15 position. But, in order to get the max signal on the DirecTV Signal Sensors screen, I have to manually move the dish. This then loses the internet signal. When I do a search to get the internet, I only get half of my TV channels. The others are pixalated, or not available. There is still something wrong. I now cannot have the internet and the TV on at the same time. Still must be something wrong. I'll keep trying.

You manually move it. UP? Down? Left? Right? By how many numbers?

you may want to move the lnb in toward the arm the amount of the width of the grey plastic stow plate. The bow was designed to be used bolted flush to the metal arm plate.

Have you done a new Dish Calibration to ensure the dish is pointing properly? Do you have the Isolation Optimization set to None? The pictures show that your bracket is straight but you should check to ensure that it is not loose. I have used 83W and the setting for a year or 2 without issue. Assuming you are still in AZ that should be the correct setting? Check the various transponder strengths on the menu screen and see if only the odd or only the even transponders have low signal strengths. If so you may have a bad LNB or a bad connection in one of the coax cables. If you use a DVR, are the transponder signal strengths the same on both?

This would indicate that for some reason the standard '15' mark is not accurate. You could have someone on the roof fine tuning the TV LNB position for maximum SS for TV. Then tighten it down and all is well.
