We recently traveled from WA to CA. While on that trip, I used my Datastorm to lock onto 119 for Dish Network TV. I pressed Search and simply watched for a TV signal in the Dish Network Point Dish screen.
What amazed me was that I could then rotate the azmuth to receive the 110 signal which provided me with the HD channels on that sat. I was surpirsed when the LNB that I've been using for several years would pickup the HD signal.
Of course, I lost the Spot Beam channels for locals somewhere in Oregon. I did not attempt to lock onto 129.

If Dishnetwork HD programing only comes from 129, then what are the Pro/Pro Plus LNB's? If you can't get HD with Dishnetwork (that's what I get reading this thread unless you get the traver separate sat), then a question on receivers. Can a HD receiver be used from home, in our campers, to watch TV that is not HD?
I have successfully used my VIP622 and VIP211 at different times to bring in SD from DishNetwork on sat 119. Each time you move the receiver from your home or RV you must perform the Check Switch procedure on the receiver.

No problem getting SD channels with the Dish network HD receivers. I think there still may be some HD channels on 110W but I haven't checked in months.
Unfortunately you cannot get all three Dish TV satellites using your F1.

Thanks Dan & Don M, I'll bring my dual head with me next time, can't remember the number but I know it can record 350 hours so if your in the trees or mountains you can watch something. I'm still curious about what Bill said though, what's a Pro/Pro Plus LNB? Just guessing its a LNB on a Wineguard or ?

The Pro+ is the latest Dish network LNB. It allows 3 satellite signals to combine on the one coax using the Pro+ switch. The problem is you also need the 'Lipstick' LNB which is not available in Pro+.

Yes, but why? The legacy LNB works just fine for 110/119.

A legacy LNB (or anything) is the product that existed before the new version. In this case the legacy LNB is one that existed prior to the Pro and Pro Plus LNB's.

The legacy LNB is the one that comes with the standard optional TV kits.
