We ordered a new coach and are looking to have someone reinstall our D-2 on it when we get it in. We live in the 4 states region of Northeast Texas and purchased the coach thru dealer in Bossier City, La. Hope to have the factory install the cables and coax when it is being built. Any contacts out there??

You might look up Phil Phillips on the Motosat dealer list. He wanders them parts of the country sometimes.

Unless "the factory" normally installs Motosat F1/G74 dishes, they probably don't have a clue what cables are needed and where they need to be. Their experience is more likely with the sat TV domes. Many of the manufacturers that offer the Internet option will actually use a third party installer. Then there is the problem of finding those concealed cables. Unlikely to be any lower cost for your installer to do it all from scratch than to try to work from the factory assisted cable runs.

More and more manufacturers are installing the Datastorm antenna roof hardware and the necessary cabling. They usually leave the interior connections to the customer or a local installer. If the dealer handles that part the rest is easy.

Partsman,

The best way is to have the factory install a flexible conduit from the roof location to the cabinet for the controls. This allows the installer to pull the wires he needs easily. Having the factory pre-install the wires usually does not save any time for the installer for several reasons.

It does if the factory installs the F1/G74 and runs the cabling. The only thing left is the interior connections. We have worked with about a dozen manufacturers who are doing just that. Double Tree (DRV is their new name) did one yesterday with our guidance. If they can install a dome they can install a Datastorm.

Where is the factory located? If it's in Indiana, I wouldn't trust them to do it right. I've yet to see the amish run the cables correct on these units. The type of system also requires a certain kind of cable, so if they run some cheap stuff from Walmart, expect problems.
