No real moderation, just ownership and membership approval. Matt McMillan was, and probably still is, the owner of the group. Matt (different Matt) at Motosat handled membership approval, mostly.

Mike Sisk created the original post for the Yahoo forum on November 15, 2001 and appeared to be the original moderator. Scott Whitney became a member of the group the next day. By the 19th, Bill Adams had joined the group. Mark Wright became a moderator November 28, 2001. Newt Perdue started posting shortly after that. I joined in on December 3, 2001. By August, 2002 Ed Travis became a moderator.
On May 1, 2003, Don posted the proposal to set up this great site and received overwhelming support for the idea. The following day, Don launched DataStormUsers.com. At that time the Yahoo site had 6174 posts. The Yahoo site continued to be active with almost 3000 additional posts by the end of 2003. Discussions at that time included the feasibility of using the recently introduced 6000 modem in a mobile application. The last subject related post was October 30, 2004 although there were two posts regarding change of email addresses made after that time.

I never saw anything to indicate Matt McMillan gave up ownership, so he would be the the one to make any significant changes. Matt and Liz are equine photographers, and you can find an e-mail link for him on the contact page at http://www.equineimagery.com
