When I am connected to the router and click on Status.... then Support it say my address is assigned by DHCP, the IP is 192.168.1.100 and the subnet is of course 255.255.255.0 and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1
I think this is the common way to do it but still I get an error when I try to connect to 192.168.0.250 after putting the D2 in software update mode as I described earlier.

I downloaded the pdf file with full instructions on how to update the tables, etc.... but I always run into the problem that I can't see the controller after I turn it back on holding both buttons to get all the lights on the front going at once for update mode. I can't find the software listed anywhere to identify the version I have now either.

I don't know if this helps but I am aiming for SatMex5 at 117

You can't "see" a 192.168.0 address when you have a 192.168.1 address. You have to use manual addressing.

I would suggest that you trash the PDF file of instructions and follow Bill's instructions that you will find in the reference section (top forum) here.

I didn't look at your numbers before I posted the last. You have a D2, so there are no satellite tables involved.

117 is way out west of you, but your dish is pointed at something that is a bit east of your location. Your dish is skewed -8 degrees when it needs to be skewed +42 degrees!

That means that 117 is not selected in the controller, or you are manually pointing at something unrelated to your target.

I'm sorry. I should have mentioned that I just stopped it where it was after a couple of hours searching.

I noticed you said I would have to change to 900. Could that be the only problem? That should be easy to fix I guess. Should I enter 900 and select update on the config screen?

If your modem says that you are assigned to 117/1230 then you should set the parameters in the D2 to 990 and click update settings.

It appears to me that your skew is actually correct but your skew tilt and elevation tilt should not be reading -8 and +8.

Ken -

I would like to point out what Bill said about selling the F1 and buying a TV antenna. I never had the desire to mess with a BOW and so I purchased a Winegard Trav'ler and have been happy. The thought of trying to peak for INTERNET to only watch television is a big pain in the ... neck.
