One of the utilities has the option as to when the solar options occur. I have had to rebuild my travelling computer and have forgotten which one provided this.

Every year during the Spring and Fall Equinox the sun lines up directly behind the satellite and the radiation from the Sun will wipe out the signal from the satellite. These outages usually last about a 1/2 hour and then things return to normal.

When the sun does line up directly behind the satellite is when those that have re-painted their dish reflector have to watch out! Some paints reflect heat!
