Could the addition of a Find Last capability be added, such that one can easily do a generic search at a new location, or a search at last position when one has not moved moved?

Or perhaps does the Clear Last Known force the generic search when one has last known enabled?

Garry,
The recent releases of the D3 software offer a Search Last option. Just click on Configuration and Enable "Use Last Known Location".

Bill, Garry is looking to make that a bit easier - the ability to go either way without changing configuration.

Garry, the simple answer is that I don't know - I just never use "last known."

At least in theory it should work - set "use last known" in the configuration, then just hit clear before a search when you don't want to actually use last known. Try it out and let us know if it works!

While that may or may not be true in this case, my guess is that nearly no one with a D3 knows that is option is available.

Well, I did learn one thing. Do not "delete last known" on the D2 Admin pgm while a search is in progress. Undesireable things happen.

I am trying to load the d2 admin program on a lap top that had to be reformatted and when I download the program it always shows not connected when I try to use it. Also the signal quality bar is not present on the screen. Downloaded from Feb 24 2007 file in Article section. Has worked on this computer befor reformat.

Dan,
A couple of quick suggestions.... download the program again and make sure you have the correct IP address for your controller. [192.168.1.250 or 192.168.0.250] Also verify that your laptop is connected to your wireless system when you open the admin. program... And of course double check to make sure all cables for the modem/controller/router are connected properly. I realize it's all pretty basic... but often times it's the small stuff we forget to check.

The SQ bar only shows when the system is set to Hughes. With no connection, it can't tell what your settings are. Once you get it to connect (IP address is the most common issue), the SQ bar should take care of itself unless you actually have your D2 set to something other than Hughes.

Thank you Liveneasy and Don it was the IP address. It indicated 1.250 when downloaded but needed to be 0.250 which when changed everything worked fine. Things are fine again, now to get everything else back on this computer.
