I down loaded the latest version of DSlocator which noted my correct GPS location and clicked SUBMIT.

What happens is the following error -

DSLocator.exe - Application Error

"The exception Floating point division by zero. (oxcooooo8e) occurred in the application at 0x00405d0f"

Any thoughts??????? [Confused]

Thanks

Sterling hasn't been around much lately for support, but I would be looking at all of the entries on the settings and location tabs to see if there is anything at all strange. Usually that kind of error is something involving bad data.

Don's suggestion is a good one. Other thoughts:

Looking at my source code, the only area I can see where division by zero is even possible is in the outage calculation. Even there, I can't make it happen, but try unchecking "Check for Solar Outages" on the setings tab to see if that cures it.

Otherwise, it's probably something that's not directly in my code. You're not running Windows Vista, are you? I've heard anecdotal reports of DSLocator having trouble in vista, but am unable to test it myself.

That's exactly the kind of report I mean, Steve. [Smile] You're not getting the same "division by zero" error as Blair by any chance, are you?

No... seems the cookies are not recognized from your program. Cookies are set to work on Vista. Other programs see the cookies and run OK. I have been booting to the Xp drive to run your program.

If you use my D2Admin and the built-in map submitter, does that find the cookie? I would be surprised if it does when Sterling's does not, but I have not seen any reason to try Vista, so I haven't tested anything.

I used to use Sterling's program with no problems. Now it tells me that it cannot find my Datastorm number and something about cookies.

I have no problem with cookies except with this program? What should I do?

Thank you soooooo much for your help,
George

George,
All you need to do is log into this forum on using IE (must be IE and not Firefox or whatever) and let it save the cookie. After that you should be back in business.
Good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well.

George glad to see you are feeling better!!

Are you using Internet Explorer or another browser? Sterling's program uses Microsoft Internet Explorer to set cookies. If you are using another browser, try using Internet Explorer to log into this site one time to set the cookies. Sterling's program should find them and be good to go.

George, I too am a Firefox fan. After I use IE to log into this site one time and set the cookie, I go back to using Firefox.

A few sites have problems with Firefox and those are easily solved with the new version 2.0.0.1 by right clicking on the tab and clicking on Switch Rendering Engine.
