105w went offline for about an hour and a half. when it came back up it was really hot. im getting sq of 100+ on my F1. sq was 77 before it went offline. they must be doing something up there. hopefully they are working on fixing this thing for good. i like the higher sq, hope it stays that way.

Interesting. I was only getting in the 70s and 80s with a 1.2 meter in Calgary, and I figured I was getting close to the footprint edge. Now I'm west of Edmonton with 100+ like you - thought it was an anomaly until I read your post.

I wasn't around then. I didn't check the SQ when it first deployed late this afternoon, and then I was away for several hours. Note that at the moment I am on 105, not the 121 in my sig line.

Really strange. SQ 97-98, Rx SNR 15.5, Tx Pwr -16.0.

Reported bandwidth 17.6 Kbps, Jitter 56/63 ms. There shouldn't be much traffic at this hour. Forced idle was awful high at 95%.

They must have found something. Hope this is indicative of stability pretty soon. Or NOT.

There will be hub maitenance today from 7PM - 10PM MST this can take sites offline, will pass on more information as I get it.

Thanks,

wonder if it came a day late, or if they're doing something again tonight? my guess is on both.

Hub maint? What kind of maint is there to do?....esp for that lengthy of an interruption window. I wouldnt doubt it if they were toying with Group QoS right now (testing). If the users were smart, they would export a copy of their options file the evening prior, and then another copy the morning after to see what has change (read: comparing the two).

Has anyone seen an increase in up speed with the changes of the last few days? I know it's been an issue for many folks.

my up speed has stayed the same, but my down speeds have decreased by about 20% in the last few days. they must be loading more users on my transponder.

105 looks like this for me this morning. These are numbers within the typical range. 121 usually has higher downloads and slower uploads.

Could be because of the small dish, I don't know. I never see low uploads out of 105.

Note that Speedtest never picks the right server for us on satellite, and you should manually pick one, always the closest to the downlink, which means Phoenix for 105 and Cheyenne for 121.

The Qwest thing is interesting - must be because of your static IP. I wonder if that creates any other issues? Unless you really need that IP I would have them drop it and put you back on a dynamic one.

i hadn't even thought of that. they gave it to me to see if it would change any of the browsing issues. what would be the drawback to having a static?
