For Those who are traveling www.gasbuddy.com has a new feature... Scroll down a bit and it's on the left (at least at the Detroit page) It is a map of the us, color coded by gas price range, County by county. You can see if moving just a few miles might mean lower prices.
There are some great spreads there. Prices can go from top of the chart to bottom in a very short distance if you are out west, Here in the mid-west and east prices are more constant
It contains links to most of the major truck stops nationwide with their prices.

I buy 99% of my fuel at Flying J and they post the prices of all their stations updated every morning. With their free RV card you get a 1 cent discount. Also a 5 cent discount on Propane

One other thing about the Flying J card, since most FJs have gone to a $75 transaction limit, is that you can use the card and select Cash, or Pay Inside, or however its worded, and you only have to go in once to pay at the end. CC still OK with cash discount on such transactions.
(I probably have a warm spot in my heart for Pilot because traveling East from California it's the first breath of cheaper diesel at the Pilot station at I-40 and AZ95.)

Love's offers a 3 cent per gallon discount with the good sam card, but you have to go to the car pumps up front. If you go to the truck pumps, you don't get a discount. Proablem is that most of the car asles are hard to get into if you have any length to your rig or if you are towing another.

Also, if you pay with a CC at Pilot they add an additional 5-6 cents per gallon to those quoted. We no longer use Pilot but your mileage may vary.

We run into the CC price vs the cash price anytime we travel through Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Seems like 'Rip Griffin' truck stops to the same thing - charge a higner price if using a CC.
We've been most successful at Flying J, with their card. Back when the prices were close to a dollar a gallon, it was a real good deal, not it's not much of a discount, but it usually is fresh fuel and good access for large rigs.

Sorry
As of March 1, 2006 Love's Travel Stops will no longer be partnering with the Good Sam Club. As a result Good Sam members will NOT be able to use their membership cards to receive fuel or restaurant discounts at any Love's Travel Stops location beginning on March 1. We are currently developing a new fuel discount program which we hope to have up and running by this summer. However, until that happens there is no longer a fuel discount benefit.

Darn!. Oh well, I guess I can still stop and get a cup of coffee. I usually have enough fuel on-board to make to Flying J. Thanks for the update....
