Anyone need a gently used van? We are going to try to get another in the next few days.
The driveshaft disconnect did not get properly engaged and the van was left on the sloped road of the RV park. Janet walked away and the van took off. About 100 yards down hill, jumped an enbankment and went airborne OVER the huge propane tank at the bottom of the hill and into the (closed) office of the RV park. No one injured.

I think we have a different definition of "gently used". [Wink]

Glad no one was hurt.

It's a good thing if you can afford it. It's a bad thing if you are in my financial condition!
Thanks for the positive thoughts all. I know, it's just "stuff" and stuff can be replaced. Had anyone been hurt I have no idea how we would have dealt with that kind of a tragedy. Things could have been much, much worse. With that in mind, we are very, very lucky.
Don B., can you resize those pics for me?

Sorry to hear of the unfortunate luck, but good no one was hurt. Also hate to think what would have happened if the van crashed into the propane tank!

My 4x4 Grand Cherokee that has a neutral in the transfer case suggests to ALWAYS engage the parking brake when parking which I do without even thinking. Based on this incident, seems a sound thing to do!

It was as bad as it looks EXCEPT for the amazing blessing that no one was hurt!!!!
The van is, of course, totaled. We appear to have found a suitable replacement here in Eugene, OR. Winegard has refused to accept my request for a leave of absence while I put everything back together again and will continue to pay my salary until such time as we are ready to go again. Seriously? I am humbled and deeply grateful.

Bill, Just saw this and happy to hear that no one was hurt. Hope to stop at the Valley of the Rouge State Park on the 23-24 of July. May get a chance to touch base with you then.

We are leaving Hat Creek, CA tomorrow 7/23 morning. We should be there about 2. Maybe we can meet for dinner? We will call when we get in. (Providing I can get cell service for AT&T)
