I will more than likely have to put my Direcway modems on a fixed Direcway dish this summer since our lot in Indiana is surrounded by trees.
Can you still use the Manual Antenna Pointing with Motosat V2.x software or will I have to reflash with 18x?

You will not need the DataStorm software at all on a fixed dish installation. If you are using the same computer, you will need to stop the Dsserver and then run the manual antenna pointing, one time only, to insure that the home antenna is properly pointed. After that, you will not need to run ANY antenna pointing when you are on the home dish.

Thanks Bill:
What prompted the ? was an error 12 situation with V2.4 I had couple of days ago when parked temporarily for night. ACP was down on Satmex5 and I attempted to use the Direcway software after stopping Dsserver and it would not work.

After I manually entered Lat & Long from GPS, it only got as far as the screen indicating SQ of about 95 and the NEXT button was grayed out?

With 18x, I could manually adjust the dish and get it enabled sometimes when the ACP at NOC was flakey.

I know Don indicated that V2.7 enabled TX on this error that day and my V2.4 enabled TX on control panel and modem light was on solid but Diagnostics indicated that it needed to pass Antenna Pointing Test and I could not browse.

When you get a TX(12) error, ACP is unavailable on that particular Sat/Transponder. The Hughes software understands that, and doesn't offer the ACP portion of the pointing test. That's what you would see if you were on one of the old non-ACP transponders like 1250.

The big question-mark is why it was showing you that it needed to conduct a pointing test. Could be that ACP was up-and-down, and that you were seeing the different results depending on whether it was up or not.
