Since I had all 4 lights AND was successful in clearing RAM tried stowing - SUCCESS!
Redeployed - dish spun & stopped. No internet. Turned off D3 - No internet Cannot connect to 192.168.1.250 to check system status. Never could get into telnet to ucbupdate.
Going to church now, will check back later. Thanks again Bill for all your help

Sorry to hear that you did an nvclear. That's why my last post said "WAIT, don't do anything!" Once you had re-established communications with the D3 and nvclear would require several steps to get you going again. Doing a stow after and nvclear could have resulted in a disaster unless you also did the Dish Calibration as required. You will not be able to get on the internet in its current state. Do you know what version of firmware is loaded in the D3? Look at the underside of the D3. This will be the factory installed version. Do you know if your installer updated that version?

Assuming your firmware is older, you might find you can connect to the D3 now at: 192.168.0.250, if you assign your computer an address of 192.168.0.10.

With 3.9.4 then your D3 can be accessed at the 1.250 address after the nvclear. If you were following my instructions you would have done the dish calibration which would have left the dish stowed. If you have not done so, you got lucky but you need to do one once you get access again and before you attempt another search. Now, in order to have done the nvclear you changed your computers IP address to 0.10. You now have to change it back to 192.168.1.10x so that you can access the D3 at 1.250. This is generally accomplished by returning the wireless connection settings to Obtain an IP address automatically and at the bottom, Obtain DNS automatically and click OK all the way out. If you have a Windows XP computer you can check your IP address by double clicking on your Wireless icon in the bottom right and then clicking on the Support Tab. You will see the IP address there. Once you have access and have done the Dish Calibration let us know and we can help you setup the rest of the D3 settings that will allow you to find that satellite. Hint: Go to http://192.168.0.1 and click on the System Info button. If you can, copy or print this page as we will need the information to setup the D3.

Thank You, Thank You for coming back Mr. Adams. Before I begin anything further, the current status is: 1) Did not do Calibration as every time I'd type in the 1.250 (with ethernet attached directly to computer) it would go to firmware update screen. 2) Dish is currently stowed 3) With ethernet cable attached to D3 I am able to get the modem, the router but still NO 1.250 4) Before messing with the system yesterday, I did print the Configuration Settings.
I have e-mailed & telephoned the installer several more times to no avail. Two months ago he was the only one in the southwest I could even obtain to do the install.

What is the IP address the router has assigned your computer?
When you turn on the D3 what lights come on?

That computer will work just fine either with the Ethernet connection or wireless. If you get the firmware update screen when you go to 1.250 then you need to clear your browser's history as it is being held in cache. Once you clear this then open try to open it again and you will see the MotoSAT screen.

Go ahead and do the Dish Calibration and then go to http://192.168.0.1 and click on the System Info button. You will need the information from the right column as to your Satellite Longitude, Receive Frequency and Receive Polarization.

Calibrated and re-stowed! Yeah Ha! 0.1 continously timed out. However, yesterday I did print my configuration settings, AND, I currently have a 1.250 window open. Should I reset the CONFIGURATION settings now?

I must assume that your modem (HN7000S) is plugged into the internet port on the router and not any of the 4 LAN ports. If this is not currently correct, please change it now. If you have the proper settings then you do want to change the D3 configuration now. Click on the Configuration Link and then change the following items only! 1) Change the Startup Delay to 30 seconds. 2) Change the Satellite System to HughesNet. 3) Change the Satellite Longitude if necessary. 4) Change the Receive Frequency if necessary. 5) Change the Receive Polarization if necessary. 6) Scan down to Isolation Optimization and change that to Low. 7) Set the Signal Trigger to 4. Click the Update Settings button. Click back to System Status and click on Search. This should get you on-line. If not you may have to adjust the Signal Trigger. If the antenna searches endlessly without stopping move the ST down to 3. If it searches but stops ever few degrees, even if that's the North, then raise the ST to 5. Be sure to click Update Settings after any changes. Drop us a line once you are on-line.
