Last night I had a difficult time getting set up. I used DSSAT to set position, and did Force Ranging and shortly had all five lights. But then things went wrong. Xmit and system lights started flashing on and off. System Control was doing crazy things also. Saw Tx code 3, Xmit locking to Rx carrier. Did what the troubleshooting guide said and it cleared up for a while. Sometimes would pass Connectiveity Test, other times not. Having same problem this morning. Right now using Air Card. Signal Strength is 79. Did complete Registration and that was a zoo. As noted elsewhere on the forum, it seemed to be a problem connecting to the registration server. Checked weather at Vegas, not the problem. Some of the trouble shooting seemed to indicate could be a problem with modem. Any suggestions?

Currently in Wauchula, Fl, about 70 miles south of Orlando. When we try to use Hughes Net there even times when Xmit, Rx and System lights all go for a short time.

The footprint map for 83W indicates full coverage for Florida.

IF the REC light goes out first then the others will naturally follow.

If the clear feedhorn cover free of any signs of moisture?
Has your SS changed from before when it worked?
Did you try a bypass coax cable to the modem? You can also swap the Rec and Xmtr cables to see if it is the Rec cable causing the problem.

If it is two, Xmit and System, they go out at the same time. The same is true with three. Right now I am on the satelitte and it is working, but for how long is the question. I will try swapping the Xmit and Rx lines in the morning and see what that does. Did have a similiar problem about a month ago, but changed connectors and it cleared up. I have the means to change all connectors if it appears that may be the cause.

Changed one of the Xmit connectors and everything is back to normal. Once again, a bad connector rears its ugly head. I had a barrel connector on the wall plug for one of my DirecTV tuners go bad the other day, and it too was an intermittent problem. When you guys say check connevtors first, you know what you are talking about. It is cheap insurance to have extra connectors on hand.
