Can anyone help us with the config settings for sats 89W & 91W? We've had our sat on hold & talked with our provider today trying to recommission our modem again due to the new updates with Motosat. We lost the original settings while doingthis & now the dish keeps searching & searching. Please, can anyone help over the weekend until I can reach them again on Monday? Would like the dish to lock on to our direct tv asap. Thanks

You cannot change any settings in the modem. That is done by Hughes. You can find those settings at 192.168.0.1>System Info. If the modem is not currently commissioned then you can set the D3 to: Generic 89W 1410 V H 30 (symbol rate) Update Settings Allow the antenna to search and lock onto the 89W satellite and you will now be able to run the registration installer routine. My other favorite combo for running registration is 117W/1070/V/H/30. After you complete the registration routine you could go back to the modem and set the D3 to whatever parameters you find in the modem system info screen.

They can pick any satellite they choose for registration. They may also have been on 89 or 91 and now are being moved to the other. Either combination will work with a BOW for DirecTV as long as they move it to the correct mark after selecting one or the other.

Asked for two options because we were on 91W 990 which apparently is no longer available. Tried 117W but never locked on, too far North maybe? South Dakota, although heading south hopefully tomorrow...After 10 attempts 89W locked on but falls off after a few minutes, have searched over & over...when it does get up, I can start recomssion process & get just past San screen to establishing satellite connection & then it times out, I've hit retry 50 times...yesterday I got as far as Your Account is registered for service before it dropped me...Motosat was on phone with me at that time but said it was time to go home...urghhhhhh! Any ideas anyone? 89 just lost connection again hubby says...thanks!

Forgot to mention Motosat wants me to go to 91W 985 21.5 after I get this commissioned, if I ever do! Said I need to lock on on 89 first & then commission...we were on hold for 3 months when they changed the 91W 990 & I guess this is why I needed to do a firmware upgrade, new sat table & recommission.

89W is locking on, well it stops & says search complete
It shows Receiver operational RXCode5.
It changes every minute or so between 3 TXCodes
Transmitter unavailable due to receivier timing problem Code7 Transmitter ready Code8 Transmitter adjusting for optimal network timing Code9
I hit search & it stops searching within a minute or two & goes through this same routine.
I've now made it through your account is registered for service screen 5 times but then get a 504 error screen each time...we are so frustrated, like to cry right about now, lol!

If you just want to get TV to make it through the weekend until you can call your provider on Monday, you can use the manual motor controls to find the TV satellite without having to lock onto the internet satellite if you know what internet satellite your BOW is set up for.
Since you are posting on this forum, you obviously have some sort of internet access. If you don't have the Look angle Calculator, download it from the "Articles" tab above. Use the calculator to find the proper elevation and skew for the internet satellite your BOW is set up for.
Use the manual motor controls for your controller (192.168.1.250) to set the elevation and skew, then rotate the azimuth to the approximate direction of the internet satellite.
Go into setup on your TV receiver so you can see the signal strength.
Use the manual motor control to move the azimuth in 5 or 10 degree increments to find the TV satellite. This is similar to manually aiming a tripod TV satellite dish. When you get a blip on signal strength, start making the azimuth adjustments back and forth in smaller and smaller increments so you can manually peak the signal. You may also need to peak the elevation and skew.

Anyone nearby with a Hughes antenna? You could swap in your modem, do the registration and swap their modem back in. Are you near a dealer anywhere who has a live connection? If so you could take your modem (or mail your modem) to them and let them get the modem registered. It sounds like you may have other issues with your local hardware but it will become more clear once your modem issue is taken care of.

Thanks to all who responded to our post. Unfortunately we are still down with the internet although we do have direct tv. We were never able to lock onto 117W, it jumped from 111 to the 120's. And 89 locks but for a minute or so then gives one of the 3 TXcodes 7,8,9 that I mentioned earlier. I've managed 4 times to get to the Your Account is Registered in the commissioning but then I get a 504 error & can never complete it. What's interesting is it shows my modem commissioned. However it does show that I have a one watt transmit radio. We actually purchased a two watt from you Bill when we were in Oregon 2 years ago visiting our sons in Brookings. Don't know if that makes a difference but I check two watt during the commissioning process. Tried one as well. Tonight I redownloaded the Firmware, calibrated the dish, entered the sat tables once again & thried both 89W & 117W to no avail. Anyone know of a dealer or installer we might get help from in the Rapid City, SD area? We're actually in Custer & there is no Hughes antenna in this campground. In fact, there's pretty much noone left in it, lol! Were hoping to head south tomorrow, Monday through Nebraska, then Kansas. Anyway, once again, thanks to you all.

What the modem shows is determined by what is selected during the commissioning process. It has nothing to do with what power transmitter is actually attached. It also has nothing to do with how the modem/transmitter reacts so if it says 1 watt and you have a 2 watt system then everything will work the same, no need to worry. If you ever commission again just select 2 watt next time.

Update: Yesterday I managed to finally get the modem commissioned after taking the router out of the loop. It still wouldn't lock onto 91W 985 so I gave up for the night. This morning it was uncommissioned again & Motosat tells me that sometimes occurs. While watching it search I noticed it jumping from 89 to 93, never looking at any 91 sats. I spoke to Daniel & he told me there is another sat table that a few folks need & that we must be one of them. He sent it to me at 5pm today, I imported it & presto, we are now up & running after 4 days & 30 hours of laboring with this thing! We do appreciate all of your responses & we know enough now to be dangerous but if we can be helpful to any of you please let us know! Thanks again, Lee Ann & Larry
