I have just sent you an email with a number of the Garmin GPS data readings in several formats, i.e., RTF, XLS, & PDF that could be used to plot the rally park map.
Call me when you get a chance, will be out to dinner around 7:30 until 10:00. We stay up late so do not hesitate to call.

Those readings just about match, so it may be how you entered them. 28 degrees 0.790 minutes is 28.013166666 (28.0132) 82 degrees 18.238 minutes is 82.30396666 (82.3040)

DonB, I read Georges post and was going to tell him to convert degrees, minutes and seconds to decimals of a degree or vice-versa, but then I saw you already caught it. You'd be surprised how many people don't realize there's a difference. Made the same mistake myself once. See you all on Wednesday.

I have adjusted the map based on the readings that George gave me. That means that anyone who has fudged their position will need to do so again.
It appears that side-by-side-east-to-west sites are about .0001 degrees apart, which is the limit of the datastorm GPS reading. When sites are side-by-side-north-to-south, they are less than half that.
I expect to stop changing it at this point, as it is about as accurate as I can make it. I would suggest, for anyone that wants to fugde themselves into place, make changes on the order of .00005.
If you want to move left, add a 5 on the end of your longitude. If you want to move right, drop the last digit by 1 and put a 5 on the end (for example, 82.3039 would become 82.30385). To move north, add a 5 on the end of your latitude; to move south, lower your last digit by one and add a 5 (for example, 28.0137 would become 28.01365).
If anybody doesn't understand this, feel free to e-mail me and I will tell you what to change your reading(s) to.

I had noticed several people doing it, so I put a conversion tool on the page where the data is input.
I wish I was at the Rally, but alas it was not possible for me to attend, although, in the future, I hope there will be one on the west coast, where I could possibly attend. I hope all of you have a great time and post what you have learned, and your experiences, so that we can all share the adventure with you.
On another item, how can we see the "map" and all its iterations? I would love to see how everyone got to the rally, and how precisly you can show where they are now on the map.
After the rally, perhaps we could get a posting of how well the non DataStorm GPS units compare vs our DataStorm readings, including information such as; GPS unit manufacturer, model, source of supply, price, features, ease of use, availability, etc. This could be a great help to those of us who are considering such a product.
Any way, HAVE A LOT OF FUN, for the rest of us!
PS: I have tried to use some great avitars for my identity on this board, but I still can't get them show up on my profile, I see that on my update to my profile the avitar is in the box and I select to "use this avitar", but once I close the update page, it is gone! I will keep trying to figure out how to add one that is not on the generic list, it is clearly a learning experience, and I will figure this out eventually. (Any help is appreciated)

Hi Rob. I'm not maintaining historical data, just the current listing. You can get to the maps in a couple of ways. First you can go through the "Show your location" link at the top right of any of these pages. That will let you put yourself on. If you don't want to show up, put 0(zero) for latitude and longitude. For those who want to be on the map, it is good to go in that way occasionally even if you haven't moved - it remembers where you are, so you don't have to enter any numbers, and it will update the timestamp to show you are still there.
