After troubleshooting for a couple of days I contacted MotoSat and sent my Nomad SD in for service.
The latest issue started when I tried to re-peak my signal. and the elevation moved a small amount and then the unit quit responding. The Dish would not stow or search. I disconnected the 9 pin plug on the roof and manually stowed the dish. I upgraded the firmware to 117 and attempted to run test dish. It will not pass test dish. It goes to max elevation and stalls. The blue LNB and Power light is on and the red stow led flashes continuously. If I power cycle the Nomad the LNB and Power lights are lit. I can Initiate a test dish at this point but Elevation is already at max and it briefly attempts to move the dish in the ELV direction than quits and the red stow light flashes.
I can run the dish in all directions by applying power to the appropriate wires. I have run a new 9 pin gray cable through a window to eliminate the cable, same results.
I have manually locked on to all 5 SATS with a signal of 90-97 while the Nomad is out for service.
If the Nomad does not fix the problem, I am thinking it is time to move on to the Winegard Traveler.

I just removed a MotoSAT HD-SL5 and replaced it with a Winegard. If you want to make this move let me know and we will help if we are in the same areas. I hope that will not be the case and it will turn out that the controller is the only issue. By the way, anyone need/want an HD-SL5 with a Nomad2 controller?

Terry, That's the unit I went to Clearwater to take care of! Glad that I could get you setup with a Trav'ler. I hope you have gotten your wiring nightmare under control! Have you gotten your BBC's yet?

When mine did that I reset the elevation sensor gap. Forgot how many turns to pull it out after screwing it in all the way, but I think Bill was the one who told me!

Don, I adjusted the sensor and also swapped the one from the skew and no change. The manual says to set the 1st lock nut at 5 1/2 turns. I would think running the sensor in until it lightly touches the gear and then back out 1 turn would provide a good air gap and strong signal.
Similar to setting the governor sensor on my RC Helicopters (small magnet on the flywheel passing bye a sensor).I have a RC governor with me I could hook up a sensor and see what kind of digital readings I get. The Governor reads from 0-100 percent as the magnet passes by the sensor.
I sure will look at the sensor gap again when the Nomad comes back if that does not fix the problem. I probably will have them send a spare sensor unless they are ridiculously priced. I have 3 spares back at my home base in AR, in an F1 that is now a parts unit.

Well, ask me where I am on Monday. Alas Amazon did fail me. I got just one BBC in that order. Complained to both the seller and Amazon, but rather than return this one, I just ordered a second one off eBay for $7 including shipping. BTW, the BBC I got did come without the coax bent back. Seems the ones with gold label has coax free, the one with silver label by Zinwell comes with the coax bent back - possibly leading to failure as you have said.
I also got the connectors so I can shorten the cat6 cables going to the rear TV, so hope to get that going this weekend. I had overestimated how much cable I'd need to route down, around, back, around and up again, and the HDMI matrix could not pump the signal that far.
After a failed attempt to get a bargain on a home theater system through Overstock Auctions (didn't really need the speakers), I got a new system from Walmart Online - $100 cheaper than Best Buy. The one from Overstock Auctions was open box and did not come with the cables. Sony has proprietary speaker connectors, so I needed the cables just to get the connectors to patch into my coach wiring harness.
Anyway, this weekend I hope to get the cat6 cables to the rear TV shortened and that operational, and get the new home theater receiver patched into my coach speaker system. If I make a little progress on the TV mounts, it will be a full weekend.
While I never thought I needed to see "bad" TV as clearly as HD allows, it IS nice!

Yeah, for computer monitors and TVs, I think Samsung is the way to go - had good luck. So on your audio, did you use existing speakers? My coach does have 5:1 surround speakers, just Sony changed their connector plugs - impedance is the same. I had thought about getting some newer, perhaps higher-end ceiling mount speakers, but probably not really needed.
Sorry you are having trouble with your antenna. That's no fun.

TK, Yes I replaced my 5.1 speakers with the ones that came with the Samsung Home Theater. Samsung has proprietary connectors so I spliced them into the existing wiring using a 12 pin Deutsch connector. That way installation/service is a lot easier.
