Am I missing something? How do you keep these cables plugged in? I see no "Snap" action on the plug, pushed till afraid of breakage. Road vibration will pop this in 100 yards. Tie-wrapped one together with another plug on DVD, but nothing close enough on the TV. Opinions?

We've had a digital optical cable connecting our DirecTV receiver and home theater since 2001 and it's never come loose.

I have had one from the DirecTV receiver to my AV Receiver.
In my full time MH since 2002 and it never has vibrated out.

In a Freightliner XC air ride chassis that tries to always stay on paved roads.

OK, so what am I doing wrong? Do you just push it straight in 'till it seats(snaps) into place? I've been pushing very hard, looking into socket for barb type keepers on both TV & DVD. Nothing seems to be there to hold it.?????

Maybe you need to get a better quality cable? The one you have might not be fitting properly. Or the socket might be damaged.

As I recall (I don't have a cable handy to look at), there's a little circular bump on the flat side of the plug, sort of like the little ball on a socket drive.

I've also got optical cables from our DVRs to the A/V amp, and no problems with coming loose.

WOW. I got all the equipment at once from Best Buy at their recommendations. Maybe I'll go back and rattle their cage. Thanks.

OK... Found another thread having exact problem. There is a very small plastic cap over end of cable that I didn't see(Old eyes...Stupid). Bingo! Felt "snap" as it seated, seems fine. On to the next issue!!
