Say I wanted to use an HR34 DirecTV receiver with my Motosat HD-SL5. I need an SWM feed for the receiver, and a non-SWM feed for the Nomad. Could I install an SWM8 to get the SWM feed for the HR34, and then use one of the "Legacy" ports on the SWM8 for the Nomad? With the BBC before the Nomad.

Not really planning on doing this, but you never can tell...

The legacy port will only pick up 101, 110, 119 so it might be possible to feed the Nomad with that port and then send the SWM1 output to the power injector and then onto the receiver. You would not be able (or need to) use the BBC anywhere in the mix as the H34 does not use it and the legacy port does not feed 99 or 103. If this would work you would need one dedicated cable from the legacy port to the Nomad and no output cable. You would then use another dedicated cable from the SWM1/PWR connection to the injector and then the receiver.
It sounds about right in theory, but it would only be theory until someone gives it a try.

I figured the Nomad only needs 101 & 119, so it should work.

This is all in case I decide to upgrade my receiver in this coach without getting a new dish. And even if I do get a new dish, I'll need the SWM8 anyway.

Just a follow-up. If you get a new dish I would recommned that you take a look at the Winegard Trav'ler. Since the controller requires no coax connection to the antenna we know that the SWM8 works well with this antenna.
If you are going to keep your current antenna, why are you wanting to get an H25 or H34 receiver? While these 2 series of receivers will work only with a SWM setup, there are still plenty of DirecTV receivers/DVR's that allow you to select between SWM and Multiswitch.
All four outputs from the LNB must go to the SWM8 first so this would generally be mounted on the roof and the output from the SMW8 would then run into the coach.
There is a lot of information here:

If I do get a new dish, it will be the Winegard. This exercise is if we decide to upgrade the receiver only. We're interested in the HR34 for the 5 tuners. We have two HR21s now, and often have to juggle which receiver to record shows on, if there's more than 2 to record at the same time. And I don't like the component video switch system we have, and would prefer to put an RVU type device on the bedroom TV that feeds from the HR34.

I've already specced out the configuration for an HR-34 and Trav'ler, using an SWM8, if we do a whole new install.
