Any information on the performance of a F1 in British Columbia and/or Alaska will be very much appreciated. Also, how about the posibility of manual aiming to receive the DirecTV 110 or 119 birds using the coaxial TVLNB?

Only if you are on Horizons1 are you going to get any internet service in AK. If you are on IA8 you will get service in BC and up the AK highway a bit, but not much. If you are on HR1 (127) you should be able to add the BOW for 110 and 119, but you won't get any of the regular DTV programing from 101. If you are on the IA8 satellite, you will be able to get 101 but not 110 or 119. I don't think you will get any DTV programming in AK, but Dish Network on 119 might be possible.

Just thought we would pass this information along for anyone interested in traveling to Alaska:
Before we left the lower 48 for Alaska, we called Motosat to get changed over from 83W to Horizons 1. We spoke with Ryan at Motosat who advised that we should stay on 83W as we would have service until we reached the Yukon Territory. As it turned out, we have been unable to connect since Williams Lake, BC, which is a few hundred miles South of Dawson Creek, and a long way from the border of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory -- so Ryan’s information was not exactly on target. Ryan did verify what others have said here -- there is NO satellite coverage in the Yukon Territory.
Fortunately, most towns and campgrounds along the Alaska Highway have internet service, so we are able to get on – but we sure do miss our DataStorm! We will be changing over to Horizons 1 as soon as we get to Alaska.

We made the trip to Alaska last year, what an experience! We used our F1, D2, DW6000 and were told by Ground Control and Motosat that various satellites would work. We switched to Horizons 1 between Dawson and Fort Nelson, this is the 'only' one that worked for us. I had great internet access up to Fairbanks, where we stopped our northward trek. Satellite television was another story. We lost reception shortly after crossing into Canada. I believe if one had a much larger dish, satellite TV would work.
Remember, the farther north you are, the lower to the horizon your dish will need to point. I had to override several pointing angle defaults to get low enough. Make sure you roof is clear of obstructions!

Our experience traveling the Alaska Highway is that you enter the Horizons-1 footprint near Liard Hotsprings, BC. The signal is marginal on a .74 meter dish, but it does work with SS of about 40. The signal got better as we moved into the Yukon. At Teslin our SS was 64 and we got 67 in Whitehorse. As we have traveled around Alaska, we have had signals in the 60's and 70's. Dish Network at 119 has worked from the BOW everywhere we have had Internet.
Safe Travels all...
