This was posted on the Motosat Forum in which I just signed up today.

I just received an email form Kim Travis informing the dealer network that if we have not purchased 2 Motosat products in last 6 month we will be taken off the dealer page on the Motosat Website.

I am a tad bit upset that Motosat being a family oriented business has decided to take dealers off the website if they have not purchased from them in last 6 months. I have been selling and servicing the Motosat DataStorm for the past 3+ years. When I first attended training class, I was told to purchase units from Optistreams. Then mid-stream into the program, I was told to purchase from Ground Control. Now I guess things are different between Motosat / Ground Control and now again I find myself left out in th cold. I have received many service / install calls from Optistreams / Ground Control but not one from Motosat. I have had business that generated from people on the Motosat website and found my link but nothing more than that. I am supposed to be Motosat Datastorm Certifed but now that I am no longer on the site, did I loose my certification? I hope Motosat gives this decision lots of thought before they take off the dealers that signed on early with them. Seems to me, the success of Motosat can be at the hands of the dealers that signed on early before the product had a proven track record.

Now lets consider from the customer perspective, if Motosat takes active dealers off their website and customer needs help, then what? Looks like the dealer network is very week at best. Seems to me, that Motosat would poll everyone one of its so-called in-active dealers and see if they are not interested in the product before they just sever the relationship.

I called Kim today and was told I would have to speak to Royal. So we will see. This is my first post, and might be my last if I am banned but I am also on the dealer section of the www.datastormusers.com forum and will voice my concern there as well. Hopefully, I will have a follow-up message telling the group of the great decision Motosat made to keep its dealers listed unless the dealer request removal.

Very Upset,

Ground Control is coming out this their own competing product to the Datastorm and if you are not buying from MotoSAT you are going to leave yourself out in the cold.
I don't like the way MotoSAT and Ground Control handled the "must buy" situation, but that was during the time that Mark Wright had control of both companies. It was a bad situation and you just sort of had to go with the flow.
That situation no longer exists and if you want to buy a Datastorm, just call MotoSAT and they will provide the product as well as handle your VAR needs.
I like to see that MotoSAT is interested in getting there dealer list "up to date". If someone has not purchased 2 DataStorms in the last 6 months maybe someone needs to review the viability of this dealer.

I had the same problem. Call Kim and explain your situation and she will ask you to send her your p.o.'s of your recent purchases. Once she receives them, she will take care of you. Although I don't agree with MotoSats decision, I am thankfull for them removing dealers who are no longer active in the selling of the product.
