I am having problems with my modem and am looking on ebay to maybe buying another one. How do I find out if the particular modem can be commissioned with Hughes or not. The problem with my modem is when it gets hot in the summer (90s) my tx and sys light go out and the only way to get back on line is to put a fan close to it...

You should look for an HN7000s and be sure that it doesn't have a balance owed against it. If it is a 6000 or a DW7000 you may have trouble getting it commissioned.

Just ask the seller for the modem serial number and then you can call Hughes and have them check the account associated with that serial number. If it is clear then you will be able to re-activate it.
