Some of these seem to satisfy their owners more than others. No surprise. And as to the monthly cost of the service, there is nothing I can do about that. Or why not use an air card, we all have our reasons. But if you are on EtherSat (105W) then we might have some tweaking that can be done.

Little things like changing your QOS parameters to favor a VoIP or VPN or VoIP thru your company VPN tunnel, don't impact anyone else and can be done easily. There are also parameters that effect how quickly you connect vs the temperature tolerance of the modem.

Like you said, some happy with it and some not so happy. The NW seems to cause more grief then other areas for connection issues.

Ethersat/105? I am generally happy except for interference anywhere near military or border surveillance installations (known as jamming to conspiratorialists). So far I have experienced disabling interference in Yuma AZ (Marine Air Station) and Sierra Vista AZ (Ft. Huachuca Army Base), Mountain Home ID (MH Air Force base), and North Bend OR (USCG Air Station).

Call me a conspiratorialist, but when I channeled a complaint through an acquaintance at Ft. Huachuca a year ago about the interference, 'jamming' of my connection to 105 at home ceased.
