Norcold announced that they have expanded their recall to include every 1200/1210 refrigerator they made between 1997 and Oct 6th 2010. This includes the ones they supposedly fixed under prior recalls. If you own a Norcold refrigerator of any size, please read the included link to the recall. Bob

Thanks, I checked mine also and it is on the list. The problem is it takes a week to get the kit and we will be heading back to California Monday and will be taking 3 weeks to get there. I will have have to wait but will not go without the refrigerator. If it hasn't started on fire in over 4 years I guess It can wait another 3 weeks. We may check out someplace down the road to order it. Anyone with a suggestion? Las Cruces Tucson, Phoenix, Quartzite?

Just checked and mine is one the list, even though I had the Cold Unit replaced last year at this time. Even a newer cold unit is on the recall.

We bought our Allegro Bus in La Mesa RV in Tucson and have always gotten good service from them. Not necessarily true at other La Mesa sites. Try Dave Adams @ (520)347-7200.

The phone number is (520)807-7252 We could not get to Dave Adams. We had a very bad phone conversation with them. After calling Norcal this morning they said to call a dealer give them the part numbers and have the dealer call them and set it up. The person at La Mesa RV insisted we bring it in have it inspected and then they would get the approval and then order the parts. It looks like we will have to wait until we get back in So Cal. Could not recommend them from the limited talk we had. Bil

There is a lot of discussion about this recall on the Country Coach forum. Apparently it is a cover their b--- recall advising affected owners to immediately cease the lp gas use. Norcold will not pay for the labor and dealers have been burned. Many require payment in advance.

This is a NHTSA safety recall and federal law prohibits any dealer or service center from charging the customer for the recall. The fine the last time I checked, was $5000 per event, not something a dealer or service center would want to subtract from their bottom line. Bob

I had mine updated today at Giant RV in Corona,Ca. We called about 10 days ago and gave them our numbers and made an appointment for today when we moved. They called Norcold and had the kit sent out We had set the appointment for 10am and were out of there by 1pm. No charge and no problems. Easy! Don't know if there is any difference but at least it is done.

Norcold has changed their tune. Now they will even pay for mobile site installation charges. Al's RV in Yuma is swamped, as are many RV repair companies. Norcold shipped Al's RV 100 kits last week, and now they claim 5 days is standard to ship your individual kit. They are in trouble!

Norcold is lying big time, if they are telling you that you will get your parts in 5 days.....they do not have the parts to ship and are telling dealers that they "HOPE" to have some in by 12/13. The dealer I talked to last week, was told that they probably will not have the parts to ship him till after the 1st of the year. They can't even do a recall right.

I think a lot has to do with how well the dealer is set up to handle the recall. Kit came in Tues. took 2 weeks to get here, considering the holiday I don't think that was too bad. Seems like Al's RV here in Yuma have put in the effort to be able to deal with the volume of recalls that they are being asked to look after. Matt

Well, the dealer here called yesterday and told me that Norcold notified him that the parts would not be shipped before 12/22. I called Norcold to verify and that was the answer I got also.

Well, today Norcold changed the "possible" ship date to 12/27 or later. I know of at least one full time couple that did as told, a month ago and shutoff their fridge still does not have the part to fix their fridge. Norcold is just digging their hole deeper, day by day.

Here's a "copy and paste" from a fellow in our Newmar Fulltimers Chapter. It goes to show that folks with Norcold refrigerators included in the ever growing recall should proceed very carefully indeed. He posted this to our Newmar FTers group yesterday and said...............
"I know by this point most of you are aware of the expanded recall on the Norcold refers. The recall has been expanded several times. We were not included until the latest recall. If we had been included I could have had it repaired earlier. NORCOLD should have included all of us a lot earlier.
We are included only in the latest recall. Today we came within seconds of losing our home! The part for the recall is apparently in such high demand it is not readily available. We were told we could be repaired by 12/2...Not so. Were told to turn off the refer. We did for several days. Then when we were told that the part would not be available until after 12/15 (by the company who was going to do the repair). They told us the part was in very short supply. So we turned the refer back on. After all we are full-timers and need to use the refer.
Today the "recall failure took place" Our refer caught on fire. I'm not sure if it was fortunate or not.... The plastic tube for the ice maker melted and becaused the water pump was on--the melting put the fire out!!
We have had our coach since 10/5/2004--we have never had a problem with the refer. When I called on the last recall I was told to turn it off immediately. I did, but then turned it on again, after-all I had not had a problem in more than 6 years. Certainly I could wait another 2 weeks for the part.
I don't know what caused the fire today. But we were in the coach at the time. I heard the water pump running non-stop. I checked all the sinks and shower. No water running. I went outside and water was gushing out of the refer compartment.
We are fine, the damage was minimal. Norcold may or may not cover our repairs. It may take any attorney?????
I was advised by the company who will do the repair to advise anyone in a situation similar to ours...... To advise you to turn the refer off and keep it off until it is repaired.
The decision is yours. I may have made the wrong one."
Anyway, there you have it. Our friends are very fortunate indeed.
