They have been hit hard by spammers/hackers and have set up a new server in the past week or two.
I tried to load the page on both my and my wife's computer using our fixed dish at home. Will not log. I then checked with a couple of folks that use a different ISP and they had no problem. When I hook up to the Verizon card I do not have a problem.
Any thoughts?
A couple of more details. I tried both Firefox and IE neither would load. I am pretty sure I have been on the site since the server change, but often get the error message.

I cannot access either site via my Hughes connection either. Both open just fine with Verizon. You should post this issue on the HughesNet forum as they seem to be able to address these issue when their (I am guessing) proxy gets screwed up. However, if your forum was getting spammed they may have blocked the Hughes proxy by mistake since it can't be traced down to any one user. Don might be able to explain that better than I but it's just a thought.

This get even more strange. A few minutes ago I got right on (need to have access as I am one of the moderators) and then a few minutes later, no luck.
Even more strange for me: I can almost always load the main page but it is the forum page that does not load.
Thanks to all of you for checking. I sure hope this gets squared away. Our Verizon signal is terrible at the house (have to use an antenna).

Jim... I tried accessing the websites again today and can't. Looking at my two previous posts you will see I failed on my initial try yesterday but succeeded reaching the site later in the day.
Do you happen to know the IP address for either site? Last year I had problems accessing a forum when they changed hosting companies. I could access the site using the IP address but it took almost a week before I could get there using the forum name. I tried using several 'Lookup' sites but they couldn't resolve the host name to an IP address for either of the sites in question.

I was going to start a new post regarding a similar anomaly that started within the last few weeks and saw this issue. I certainly don't mean to hijack this thread, but my situation appears to be very similar to Jim's.
First of all, Jim I have exactly the same issue as you in connecting to the above websites. I should note I am using Firefox 3.6.23 and Thunderbird 3.1.15 for some time with no problems. I don't think any of this is related to either program.
I have noticed lately when clicking on an email link from eBay, the browser starts a new window as it should, but does not load the URL address listed on the address line in the browser. As stated this began in the last few weeks. This anomaly also occurs intermittently on some other sites other than eBay, and not on others. When I switch to Verizon this never occurs on any site.
Don, Could this be a latency issue with Hughes that causes the accessed server to time out it's response? It appears to be related to how fast the addressed site responds. What do you think?
Is their any parameter adjustment(s) in my 7000s that will help alleviate this issue?
Thanks,
Chuck

latency is very unlikely to be the cause. It could be DNS issues, or issues with specific proxy servers.
In the past, Patrick from Hughes has requested information about unreachable sites via postings on DSLReports, and he has done a good job at resolving them. Since he is one of the two people doing responses on the new Hughes forums at http://community.myhughesnet.com/hughesnet/topics I would recommend that all such reports be posted there.
