BOGSAT will still be held this January at Q, but due to declining attendance and unpredictable weather, I thought maybe this year we would move it to one of the restaurants, and make it a little later in the day so the people that work in the booths could come and enjoy.
Maybe we'll even get some first-hand information about what role MotoSat will play in the roll-out of the new Hughes HX product.
Any thoughts? I haven't even discussed this with Don yet.

The hard part of previous BOGSAT's was the setting of the date. Not the date itself, but the delay in setting it.
If we could just set a date, then everyone would have a target to plan around. That would make life much easier.... at least for me.
As for the restaurant idea.... i think we have done that in the past. I recall a place out on the NE side. The food was excellant, but it is very hard to converse with a long table in a public place.
The "open" gatherings have been fun (at least the ones i have attended). It might be a good idea to identify and have ready a few outdoor canopy's if the weather looks bad.... and maybe we could do a restaurant meal after such a gathering.
The diffuculty of course is in the details. And numbers change everything.... very quickly. Lets set a date first, and see what flies.....

I agree about setting a date and sticking to it. I have not been able to attend because of that.
I have a 10X20 cover , like you see in the booths I would bring and set it up if we had a date I could work around. I am now in the planning stage so I would need a date by Dec 15th.
Cheers

Just a quick question. Is there a reason why your going for a winter ralley? Does it not make sence to go for an early spring or later? Summer you will probably have less chances of bad weather. Thats just what I am thinking.
Either way the most important part is to have a set date. You could also have it for a few day to a week and reareange schedules on days of rain to indoor and outdorr activities.
I have never been to one of these rallys. Always wanted to.
Thanks,

This is not a rally. It's just that a bunch of folks will be in Quartzsite for the RV show Jan. 22nd -30th. So, if you are going to be there anyway, why not get together and share some stories.

Pick a date and time, john. We have wanted to make a BOGGSAT for the last few years and have been camped at the Q during the show. Hope to make one this year.

We are only going to be able to make a very early visit to QZ this year. We expect to arrive around the 17th and we will have to be on the road to FL by Sun or Mon the 23/24th. I hope we get to see as many people as possible but everything seems to be happening on the East Coast this year so we are going to make a bee-line for the Brooksville, FL rally with a couple of Datastorm installs along the way.

BOGSAT 2011 will be held at the usual place between 2 PM and 3:30 PM on Tuesday, January 25. As the time gets closer, I will post better directions, but for now I will simply say that it will be in the desert about a mile south of town just west of the Yuma Road, in substantially the same place it was the last three years. I chose this time in the afternoon because it is the warmest part of the day. In case of rain we will move under the awning or inside the motorhome, but BOGSAT will go forward.
As usual there will be snacks to graze on. The majority of people will not be expected to bring anything. Just come and enjoy some fellowship and see what we can learn about the new products and services being offered next year. Royal will attend from MotoSat and will give us all the latest information on the Hughes HX. About which at this time all I can say is that it is not cast in stone.
Anyone wanting a demonstration of how we manage the iDirect network, can get it then.

BOGSAT 2011 will be held at the usual place between 2 PM and 3:30 PM on Tuesday, January 25. BOGSAT on the map, User=11 Got questions about VoIP, VPN, QOS, iDirect... come and try them all. Ask an expert about HX. That will be Royal.
Directions: South on Yuma road, past the tent, out of town. Turn right at first guard shack. Follow paved area as it turns left. Take next left, or left after that, now pointing East, drive 100 yards and look for XF3 on my roof.
Bring something to drink.. it is the desert after all. :-)

Would like to attend but the directions are a bit sketchy. Is it in the long time camping area to the west of highway 95 abouta mile south of I-10? It seems to me I went to the east long term area last year? Coordinants would be a help. Trek 2003@gmail.com

Click the link in the second line of John's post. Yes, last year it was out at the Blue Bird gathering in La Posa South, but since I won't be there John is back to our "regular" spot in La Posa West.

BOGSAT 2011 will be held at the usual place between 2 PM and 3:30 PM this Tuesday, January 25. Bring fluids to drink, chairs to sit, and plan on having a good time. The rangers say that anyone, even motorhomes, can spend 3 hours without paying. If you get lost call 801-478-8350 for progressive directions. (aircraft speak, C337 pilot)
It looks like Ryan and Joe Doebish might be here from Motosat as well. Joe is one of the engineers on the television product.
