WAPWireless Application Protocol, or Wireless Access Point, pronounced as a word. We are generally going to see the term used to mean an Access Point rather than referring to the protocol. A WAP is a device that wirelessly connects computers to each other and to a wired network. A WAP may be combined with a Router.
