Datastorm Rallies

Our 7th annual rally will take place at Flying Flags RV Resort in Buellton, California, from October 18th to the 24th.

Buellton is located on US 101 northwest of Santa Barbara, in the Santa Ynez valley. It is a tourist destination, and is home of "Pea Soup Andersen’s." A few miles away is the community of Solvang with wonderful Danish bakeries and smorgaasbord restaurants. Santa Barbara, of course, is a great place to visit if you haven't been there before.

Registering AND paying the fee will you guarantee your spot at the rally.

RALLY SCHEDULE

This is going to be a small rally, by historical standards. While we certainly like to see lots of members show up at these things there is no question that a small rally can be particularly enjoyable. There is actually time to get to know one another, discuss and work on problems, share knowledge, etc. We will have far fewer formal sessions, and there will be more free time.

FEES

The RV space cost for 6 nights at Flying Flags will be $279 including tax, which is 20% less than their regular rate. We will make your reservation for the six nights. If you wish to come early or stay later the rally rate will be extended to you for up to a week either before or after the rally or both. Reservations for those extra days should be made directly with Flying Flags at (877)783-5247. Be sure to tell them that you are attending the Datastorm Users rally, and do not have them include the nights of the 18th through the 23rd in your reservation.

If you are planning to attend the rally and stay at Flying Flags, but are only able to stay for 4 or fewer nights it would be less expensive for you to sign up as a "Fly-in" and book your own reservations at Flying Flags at the regular rate. We do not have the ability to prorate the site or rally fees.

The fee for the rally itself will be $129 per person, which is essentially unchanged from the past couple of years. That will pay for the 5 catered meals, door prizes, supplies, etc. If anyone is coming with a child under 5 years of age there will be no fee for that child. The meal menu can be seen here.

Fees for both RV space and attendees will be due at the time you register, using PayPal. You can use PayPal without having a PayPal account. You will not be put on the registered list until that payment is made.

CANCELLATION/REFUNDS

Payment for registration is refundable if requested prior to October 4th, 2008. Refunds made more than 60 days after the payment date will be reduced by $16 to cover costs that PayPal will not refund. Refunds requested on-or-after October 4th are not guaranteed, but if we have someone wanting to register after the cutoff date we will transfer the registration from one person to the other, and grant the refund request. At past rallies we've been able to make late refunds about half of the time.
