I have a customer that is getting a "TX 24 - Transmitter cable is disconnected" error code sometimes when he turns the system on. The other night he went to bed and the next morning it was connected. Sometimes it works.

I did a search on the database and found no entries for a TX-24 error. He's called MotoSAT but still having the problem.

Anyone come across this error and found a solution?

You might check for corrosion around the connector at the antenna mount or if that is ok run a new (temporary) cable from the antenna mount to the modem to see if there is a bend/break in the wire somewhere.

If it's a legacy 4000 system, try removing the power passing splitter (if used).

Ooops. Didn't realize it was the transmitter cable having the problem. Bad post.

It's a new install (D2/6000), only about a month old. He tried a bypass cable and it still gives the TX-24 error. MotoSAT was thinking it was a bad cable but with the bypass cable also giving an error it doesn't sound like a cable or cable end. Actually I've encountered a bad TX cable recently and the error number was a 15 and 22 not 24.

If the cable and connections are good, that really only leaves the LNB or the 6000 itself.
