Frequently, when your wireless connection goes out but a hard-wired connection still works, this is due to outside interference such as radar detectors, or airport radar systems, etc. Of course, there is always an outside possibility that the router's wireless has died. In your case, since you have tried different routers, it could be outside interference.

As Wayne said, it appears you have wireless interference from a nearby source. You could try changing the channel of your wireless router but if the interference is strong it could be overriding all 11 channels. If you change channels then be sure to change it more then three channels. Try either 1 or 11.

But she tried two routers. There is also the chance your Wi-Fi adapter in your computer died.

You might wish to download a program like Net Stumbler. One of the issues with Wi-Fi is that there are something like 11 channels, At least one of those channels is shared with licensed services and if there is a licensed user in the area he can run a lot more power than your router and basically wipe you out. Also if there is a more powerful router on an adjacent channel it can wipe you out, In fact it can be several channels away

Net Stumbler will tell you what is around you.

It will also tell you if your Wi-Fi card died (No networks at all around you = Dead wi-fi card)

Wi-Fi cards can die due to a faulty driver load by the way, that one is easy to fix. (reload drivers) or it can be a hardware problem

I really doubt all of their computer wireless cards died. It has to be something related to their location but the one computer that won't work with a hardwire makes it even stranger.

I tried different channels was on 11 went to 1 still no wireless connect. I have Network Stumbler and ran it I'm the only one showing. As for the computer that wont connect with hard wire there is something else wrong with that one. If I can fix the wireless problem then I will tackle the problems with that computer.

Mike,
Even if Net Stumbler shows no nearby networks there STILL can be another strong signal in the area that is NOT a computer network. Many devices use the same frequency range and can be the blocking signal. You may have to wait until your next location to know for sure it is outside interference.

Don
Yes will see what happens when we move from here (Yuma) to Casa Grande tomorrow. Lets hope it is as you said and something is interfering with the wiFi signal. If noting else Geeks on Tour will be at the rally we are going to and I can have them look at it if I still have the same problem.
[Thanks] [Thanks] all for trying to help.

Went to http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html and checked under diagnostic then hourly history and everything is green except for unlink which is red Xed across the board. So it is looking more and more like Don you could be right tomorrow will tell.
Any other ideas out there that I might check while I'm sitting here hoping a simple move will fix it.

Ok moved today from Yuma to Casa Grande still can not connect wire less. Tried to connect to another wire less person unsecured no go.
What could cause a computer not to connect wire less but wired to a router? See how I have tried 3 different routers is there something in the controller or modem that could cause this problem?

Thanks I'm starting think it may be the D2 that is bad. Is it possible for the by pass wiring in the D2 to be bad and still let me connect with a hard wire through the router? I tried again to connect to another person wifi and was able to connect to there wire less.
