Lately, when we first raise our dish in a new location, we find that the refresh rate on the home page (192.168.1.250) is very slow. We hear the satellite dish moving, but we cannot watch it on our computers.

How are you watching it? Are you using DSAdmin? Or the web interface (your web browser)? The refresh rate is significantly quicker with DSAdmin.

We have always used our web browser and it is acting different now. The pattern now is that we have a slow refresh AND some unusual, halting, behavior of the dish itself in its search for the satellite. After we stop the search and stow the satellite, the system seems to do better. Sometimes lately we have had to stow the dish (and turn everything off) twice before things return to normal and the dish raises and finds the satellite.
We have been traveling in the Eastern Provinces and switched our satellite to 99W which has been wonderful. We have received Internet from the dish everywhere but where we are now--way up north near the tip of the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland.
Perhaps I should start another thread, but we have noticed another anomaly recently that may be related. When we raise our dish, as soon as it is up and beginning to turn to search, we hear some intermittent groaning noise. Are we beginning to experience equipment failure?
Does one ever silicone spray any of the satellite equipment installed on the roof of our fifth wheel?
