I know this has been posted before but the solutions go right over my head. Every third or forth page I get these. Is it a 'hughes thing' or my computer? Instead of having slow internet I have annoying internet! LOL Thanks!

The problem is also loading http pages. These error messages will pop up immediately and after hitting refresh, it then takes the normal time to load the page.
Edit: My wife on her Mac is also having trouble so I think that maybe its not my computer. I also have a XP Dell mini, I'm going to try it out. Now where are my reading glasses? LOL

This sort of problem can be really hard to track down. If you are willing to gamble a few dollars, replace your router as it is sometimes the cause and simple to do. (I suppose you could return a new one if it does not cure the problem so it's not that much of a gamble.)
After that comes some pretty detailed digging in your diagnostics to try and get the dish aligned perfectly, then to validate the transmitter and receiver are not contributing too much noise, possibly replacing the modem after that; basically going through piece by piece until the problem goes away. As I said, start with the router.

This last few days I have had started having a lot of DNS coming up. Sometimes a refresh will clear it and other times it doesn't.
I did a turbo tear down and it got better, with not as many DNS. But not completely DNS free.
I'm on the same bird as you. But I don't have the 501 etc errors.

No Alternative, called RTC and they said about the same thing, check the router. I told him its a cradlepoint that two years ago I bought new from Bill. He said they should be replaced every two years because of technology??
Larry, What is a turbo tear down? This is a intermittent problem by the way. Right now its going OK.

Replacing due to technology is crazy - I have 10-year-old routers that still work fine. Having said that, though, I don't think much of multifunction devices for use with Hughes. I have a Cradlepoint, but it is purely used for an air card. For satellite I use the simplest, most basic routers I can find. Nowadays that is usually a Linksys, although I have a number of US Robotics routers in use.

Glenn, I responded to your e-mail but you didn't mention you were using it for your Datastorm. I thought you were having issues with your cell card. I would put a Linksys router on the Datastorm for it's use alone and use a Cradlepoint or WiFi Ranger for your cellular connection (as Don mentions above).

From my understanding the MBR800 Cradlepoint is not a multifunction device, its for ethernet cables only. No wireless capabilities or any thing else that I know of. My wife with her headaches from wireless and cell phones limits me to what I can use. I'll get a Linksys and disable the wireless function in it and give that a try. Thanks a lot for the help!

The fact that the MBR800 can take the Datastorm Ethernet connection as well as the cellular data card input makes it a multifunction device. If you are not using it to connect using a cellular air card as well you don't really need a Cradlepoint at all.

Didn't know that Bill. I'll get, like Don said, "simplest, most basic router". I did upgrade the version of the cradlepoint last night and so far so good. Thanks you guys!!
