RTC. You can change satellites if needed. Travel to a area your satellite has no service or if the service on the one you have gets real slow or other problems. Can get a satellite the BOW will work on. And customer service that you can understand their English.

HughesNet almost impossible to switch satellites and may be assigned to a satellite that doesn't work in areas you are going to be traveling in or the BOW can be used.

Only con for HughesNet less $$.

Hughes does not support a mobile installation in any form. Should you have issues you would have to call Hughes and their response will be that they have to send an installer for repairs.

And the Hughes installer will only go to your address of record with Hughes.

Why do you want to leave RTC? There is another VAR choice - MobilSat.

I'm thinking about going with a HughesNET dish and going by just the web sites of these two providers, I'd pick MobilSat in a heart beat.

Or am I missing something?

You are not missing anything, you are just making an assuming that a slick website makes the business and not the people running it.
Both companies have proven to be excellent partners for the mobile customer.

RTC has been great to work with both on going off vacation mode and help with connectivity issues.
Ram at the tech help desk truly was helpful and I felt he cared about my situation.

Agree 100% with rbunge. Prompt person to person contact; RTC helped straighten out our credit balance left with MotoSat (vacation mode situation) who gave no +/- balance info to them during changeover; billing & paid invoices are emailed; MotoSat's were hit or miss.

Given the mess RTC had to get a handle on, they've been most impressive in every contact I've had with them.

RTC service if you got it on the change over is month to month.

Switch to Hughes Net might get you in a another 1-2 year contract.

You bet . . . because an airline passenger interprets a dirty tray table as a sign of poor engine maintenance.
