Is there such a thing. My brother just bought a fifth wheel with a datastorm, and is wondering if he can get HD DTV with the datastorm.

Yes? No?

Yes and No !

You can get it on the 110 and 119 ku band that has only around 12 channels. But that will be going away sometime this year may be. Everyone seems to have a different date. I would NOT recommend this solution at all .

There is rumor there will be one for an F1 or G74. At this point I will just say it is rumor as it is not even on the drawing board.

If it becomes real you will be sure to hear of it as soon as they are available.

I have a standing order in to Motosat for several and I am not holding my breath.

Well, I'm in the process of trying to convince him he'd be better off with the new Datastorm, 5 lnb HD auto. If I can convince him that would be the best choice, I can then start to negotiate a family price on the F1. [Big Grin]

The SL5 is an awesome dish. I had the pleasure of doing several installs with Bill Adams and I just love the way that dish works. Motosat did a great job designing that mount.

Call me when you need help with the New to you Datastorm and I will be happy to walk you through the install and supply the parts you need. [Big Grin]

Bob,
Just a clarification. Your question was about a 5 LNB BOW and the answer to that is NO. This is not available and there are no current rumors that such a thing will be available.
MotoSAT is working on a BOW for the 3 upcoming DTV satellites that will be located at 99, 101 and 103. This will give most of the DTV programming now (but not all) and it will likely be 1-2 years before DTV moves all of their programming to these 3 satellites.
Steve,
I, again, must thank you for your help at the FMCA rally and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed working together. I certainly did!

Bill

I had a wonderful time with you and Janet. And you can cook Diner for me anytime. [Thanks]

P.S. I would like the recipe for that chicken. YUM!

Just a side note: To get 99 to 129 (All five Direc HD birds) you need to see a 30 degree slice of sky

Now, the Hughes F1 dish can see a 40 degree slice but... You would need an A-arm, a B-arm and a lipstick to hit em all I suspect and even then you would need to be assigned to just one bird, and I don't think there is a internet bird in the right spot. But don knows more about those than I do

John, you are mixing DirecTV and Dish satellites together. The 129 is Dish, DirecTV stops at 119.

So, 20 degree spread, which is what the slimline HD dish does.

You are right, I did make a mistake, I meant 119 and typed 129, Sorry... 20 degrees is within the range of a Hughes dish with BOW

The bow is (A/B) +/- six to 20 degrees or "C" + Two
