My D11 finally gave up the ghost, so I bought a new D12. Got it all hoked up, called Directv to have the receiver card activated and the old card and receiver cancelled. The new card and RID shows up on the screen, but no satellite is found. Called customer service (I hate automated phone messages!) again, finally got a tech who asked what "searching for satellite" code was (it shows 771). He had me do the usual stuff that I had already tried......unplug receiver for 15 seconds, check all connections, etc. Nothing worked. When I bring up the "system test" screen it shows Tuner: failed, Access Card: OK, Receiver ID: OK, and LNB Output: failed. Should I even try to do a satellite setup? If so, I'm not sure which dish to check (round, oval, 1, 2, or 3 LNB's). The original receiver was activated in Baton Rouge with a single LNB portable dish. The same receiver was transferred over when I had the DataStorm installed in Mission, Texas. I don't believe the installer did anything to change settings on the receiver. I can't go back in to the original receiver to see what the settings are as it is toasted. I have a strong internet signal and the dish hasn't been moved since the old receiver died. Oh, I have nothing but 0's on all transponders on 101, 110, and 119. Any suggestions before I attempt to get a tech out? Directv customer service is no help at all.
Thanks, Jim
I need to change my signature line. Hughes moved me to transponder 1250 a few days back.
