For Canadians, I noted discussion on some RV websites about the upcoming launch of a new Anik Satellite (G1) that Star Choice (Shaw Direct) will be using as a third satellite in the future.
Shaw are shipping a new LBNF to look at the 3 sats, they indicate that some older current receivers will not be able to receive programming (MPEG 4)from the new sat. They don't know what channels (if any) from the current sats will be moved to G1. They also indicate that aiming the dish with the new head will be more sensitive to skew. It will be interesting to see how the new head works on the BOW on the Hughes dish.
It appears that the footprint of G1 may prevent good reception in the southern US and Mexico, a similar problem experienced by Bell customers, but the footprint won't be confirmed until later.
