We switched our satellite from 89W to 99 in order to receive Internet in the Eastern Provinces of Canada. (working great!)
We did not, however, switch our tv satellite from 101 to 110, however, before we left the states, and so were not able to do so from Canada.
should we stay with 99 for Internet when we return to the states, and will 110 work for our directv if we ask them to give us that satellite when we resume service? We do not have HD capability... still have the system installed in 2005---have D2 controller and DW7000modem.

DirecTV SD is only available on 101. They only have some specialty programming (foreign, mostly) on 110. DirecTV is not like HughesNet. You don't get to pick from multiple satellites for your service.

Satellite 99W has been very good for speeds and it has great coverage, one of the best.
You cannot change your TV satellite, it is what it is and all users are on the same satellite. What you would have to change is the TV LNB at the end of the arm. There is a special one for use with 99W, it is often called the 'Lipstick' BOW. They run $100.

We've found 99W to be a good choice, we've got good reception in our travels, from the south west US (Yuma Arizona and southern California) to northern BC Canada and across eastern Canada. We didn't test the northern limits as we switched to 127 W for Alaska.

Yes, the A-Kit is what you would need. However, simply moving back to 83, 89 or 91 would allow you to use the BOW that you have now and it wouldn't cost anything. The coverage in the US is just as good on this satellite as any other.
