Hello all.
I'm on vacation in N. NY and I brought my DirecTV receiver with me from MI. Have portable Winegard tripod and multiple LNB arm all for travelling. First trip away from home in two years (don't ask).
Two years ago I could get everything to work while in FL but can't remember just what hoops I jumped through to get there.
DTV manual says "..do this.." but I don't even get to that screen. I'm thinking I should be entering the menu option of re-starting the receiver, which changes all saved settings, right?
Just wondering if there is a "DirecTV setup for Dummies" out there anywhere.
The vacation is just about over and I've packed it all away but hope to hit the road again soon and would like to look a little more intelligent while setting up. Not to mention actually getting to watch real television.
Thanks for any help.

Menu, Setup, System Setup, Satellite. Click on Repeat Satellite Setup and then the Dash button. You will be able to set the receiver to the proper antenna type here. Be sure you know exactly which kind of a multiple LNB antenna you are actually using. Be sure you are selecting a cable channel and not any of the local Network programming as this will not be available (usually channel 50 or so and lower are local).

Thanks, Bill. As I said, I couldn't remember the steps taken in FL. I'll try it again on the next outing. Soon, I hope.
