Can I change the TV cables by unbolting the front mounted bolts from the rail and raising up the front to access the cables?
Then use a Double Female F Connector to connect the old cables to the new one and pull it through the Datastorm? Would it be best to pull new cable from the bottom or from the top if that works?
I have had a problem with signal cutting in and out even with a 96% signal. It has been doing that off and on for a while. It was only the one output doing it. I switched using the other one. Now it is doing the same. I can switch the receiver to the Trav'ler and no problem with cutting out.
I use the BOW to my analog receiver and can watch the signal when searching the Datastorm. For the times the Datastorm goes past the 117. And I can stop it and manual tune in.

No, you will not be able to do that. The cables enter the base and wrap around the base allowing the antenna to turn with out tearing the wires. They are in a complete bundle and the entire unit would need to be disassembled to install new cables.

Guess I will just hook that receiver up to the Trave'ler. And only use the present BOW wires when doing a search.

I have seen some folks run an external cable down the arm and around the base securing it such that it won't flop around too much but also allowing enough of a wrap about the base to allow turning. Just depends upon how badly you want to be able to use that cable!

I may try that. As my Trav'ler is one of the early ones with only 3 outputs. I have one going to the bedroom HD receiver and 2 going to a front HD DVR receiver.
I have used a 2 way switch for the front & rear receivers. But forget a lot to change the switch when going to bed or after getting up in the morning.
Which way should it be wrapped or if it makes any difference? Clock or counter. How many wraps?

We (it was a community effort) managed to break a TX cable during an XF-2 install in 2005 at a Datastorm Rally. We did a wrap that worked pretty well.
One turn, when viewed from above the cable came down the arm and was anchored to the rotating base, then clockwise once around the outside of the base (not on the base, outside of the base) and anchored again in front of the base.
As it would turn, the cable would slide outwards across the roof. I had to put some teflon sheeting down when it had to ride over another cable, but it worked for several months until the dish was replaced.
