There are only Direcway dishes (not 4000 or 6000 dishes). As long as it is a 2-way dish (with a transmitter mounted under the arm) it will work with 4000, 6000 and, coming soon, the 7000's.

Sounds like your checking on ebay. Some people there will advertise their systems as DWay 4000 or 6000. They are referring to the modem that the system uses.

The Dish and Transmitter will be the same [work] with either modem.

I bought a Dway 4000 system [modem & antenna] on ebay for $75.00. Mounted the antenna [dish & transmitter] on a fixed pole at home and added the modem to my 'useful junque' pile.

There are minor differences in the dish electronics between the white one with a flat-bottomed transmitter and the gray ones with a rounded transmitter.

They don't make any difference to normal operation but you will need a 22Khz filter to use an OPI with the gray dish, a filter isn't necessary on the white dish.

Really old systems have a flatter transmitter wrapped in a plastic shield and I don't know about them.
