I must be missing something obvious - last 2 versions of DSMapSubmit give me this error when I click Submit Location:

Run-time error '5':
Invalid procedure call or argument

No problem when using Map Form online. I've downloaded the program several times, most recently vs.1.0.0.24 - Install.log mentions uninstall, self-register, delete in-use files etc. I didn't uninstall the previous version.

Opening Datastorm Map Submitter 1.0.24, it gets location from controller. Clicking on "Retrieve Most Recent Info", I get window stating "Could not determine Datastorm User Id" etc, even though I'm logged in at Datastorm Users Forum; IE8 cookie exists. The submitter form, vs. 1.0.24, does not show any of the new icons for internet connection method.

Vista 64 bit, Free AVG 2012, have all Windows updates except IE9. So, feeling really stupid, what's my problem?

TIA

The cookies haven't worked with any of the later IE versions, you have to use the alternate login/password (which you setup one time in the Map Form, above).

The other internet connection methods are in the dropdown list titled "Internet"

It is difficult to troubleshoot the number 5 error. I would rather wait and see if doing a retrieve, then a submit (both using the alternate login) will solve the problem.

Thank you, Don-Oh-Master-Guru! Found the drop down internet connection (duh); alternate ID/Password login made the difference. I had thought present IE 8 cookie was working on fairly recent versions of your program - my mistake...thanks.

I was able to keep up with IE cookies into the IE8 version, but during that version changes were made due to privacy concerns that changed the cookies again. I don't know if I could have figured out a way, but I decided it was better to quit chasing.

The usual reason would be that you haven't actually setup a user name and password. You have to do that in the Map Form tab at the top of this page.
