I can find my satellite in Phoenix because I know where to point. But I am not sure which satellite to select on the drop down list to get my system locked in. I picked what I thought it was and got my usual 58 signal strength, but it would alternate between 58 and 30 and give me a reply that I was not on the correct satellite. Obviously I selected the wrong satellite name on the drop down list.
I have loaded the latest config file.
I just need to know what sat to select on the drop down list.
Any help much appreciated.

You were likely not on the wrong satellite or you would not have seen the 58. You could have incorrect transponder info or you could have the unit not properly skewed or you could have an issue with some of your hardware. You will find your specific satellite/transponder information at 168.168.0.1 and click on the System Info button. Be sure you are using Don's program to point your antenna and not the Hughes registration routine.

I edited your post to remove the personal items that you should not publicly post.
Your satellite is 83, which is AMC9.
You should not be using the registration installer routine at all, but even if you are you shouldn't be using the dropdown.
If you use DSSatTool to set your location you would then use antenna pointing, rather than registration installer. It is much simpler and does not require setting the satellite.
I was unable to use the process you described because the DSSATtool kept saying a file was missing. I am now attempting to move the process over to my new laptop. I was able to download the DSsattool on this new laptop. How do I download the PC-OPI on to this new laptop?
Thanks Smoky

As you have noted, not all sat/transponders are in the drop down box. The list is one that is used by Hughes installers and needs to be updated periodically. Even so, not all of them are valid and in some cases I have found that none of them were valid. If, for some reason, you do need to use the registration-installer routine you will be given an option (a check box) to enter satellite parameters manually. If you choose this instead of the drop down, the next page will allow you to enter the info you have posted above exactly as it appears.
