I am actually using my sat! It is sporadic. I removed some tree branches that were marginal but the sq only went to 42 and it comes and goes.I am usually at 49-50. Really slow.

Interesting. Lost connectivity last night or early am. Just now got strong enough signal to lock on and do the network timing etc. SQ still only max of 44.
Am getting a lot of transmission errors, but that is probably due to the in and out of the signal.

There is not many assignments that would be 'normal' with a SQ in the 40's. However, some are close to that.

Likley things:
cabling, cable ends or base pass thru
LNB with moisture
LNB just failing

David,

Many of the feedhorns have a sealer on the back side, this prevents you from seeing any moisture in the system behind the seal. So, you could have moisture in the LNB and simply cannot see it in the feedhorn.

The best way to check the cabling is to run a bypass cable directly from the LNB down into the coach to the D3. Doing this checks ALL the cabling and internal wiring of the dish and rig.
