This topic has been discussed in previous threads but I have not had luck following advice provided.
This week I was upgraded from my old modem to a new H7000s. I am using a D-2 controller, F-2 dish and networking with a Linksys router.
I have my computer IP set at 192.168.0.99 Linksys at 192.168.0.25 The D-2 is at 192.168.0.250 The H7000s is at 192.168.0.1
When I'm connected to the router i can see the router and the D-2 controller but not the H7000s. If I connect the ethernet cable to the H7000s I can see it at 192.168.0.1. Currently both H7000s and D-2 are plugged into LAN ports although I've tried the D-2 in a LAN and the H7000s in the WAN. No joy.
Of course the D-2 won't deploy the dish unless it has communication with the modem. That leaves me stuck. I know this must be an issue with the router configuration.

While it might be possible to make the configuration work with an all .0.x network it is frankly a pretty odd and difficult way to work. You really want to use the router as a router, and use it at the default .1.x setting. To do this, first set the D2 to 192.168.1.250 and make sure you have the gateway set to 192.168.1.1 and the modem gateway at 192.168.0.1.
Then change the router to 192.168.1.1 (or simply use its reset button. Plug the modem into the routers WAN/Internet port.
Then make the computer 192.168.1.99 or better still use automatic.

Before you make any other changes, go into the D2 and set the Local Address to 192.168.1.250 and the Router Address to 192.168.1.1. This way when you change the other IP addresses you will not have to manually set the computer IP to get back to the D2. It will be ready and waiting when you get the other changes done.

Thank you so much. This did the trick. We are so lucky to have members like you helping out. Much appreciated.
This may not be the correct part of the forum for this question but now that my system functions perfectly I've found that I cannot connect to the satellite. I've been assigned 99w. The signal meter jumps all the way to 1000 when reaching the assigned coordinates but the signal quality stays at 15 during the entire procedure. Do you have any thoughts on this or should I follow up with Realtime (the provider).
Thank you again for the help getting connected properly.

The SS numbers really have no meaning other than indicating that the LNB is working. The SQ number is the only thing that will indicate that you are finding the correct satellite. If it stays at 15 all of the time then you have an issue somewhere and usually it is an indication that something is not cabled correctly. This is almost always a local issue so I doubt RTC will be able to help. There is a slight chance the modem is dead but that's not usually how that goes. Double check all of your coax cabling and connection (most common is TX and RX are misplaced) and power cycle everything.
