I have been trying to get a transmitter upgrade on my unit now for several months. I was sent the package, but the cutting of all the wires, and splicing made me nervous about doing it myself. In talking with Motosat, they indicated I could have it done at the rally.
BUT, they are not scheduling the services. I've sent notes, and asked to get on the schedule, but they indicated they are not in charge of that.
SO, the question is, who IS in charge of that? How can I get on the list? This is warranty work that should have been taken care of long ago. I also want to get the F3 blue light kit, but it's much less important than the real repair.
Anyone know how I can get my name on the list?
Thanks, Ray

When you check in at the rally (on-site registration), we will have sign-up sheets to take care of your needs.
Hopefully when you sent in your pre-registration form (along with your $79/158 payment) you indicated a need for technical support, but not to worry if you didn't. Just be sure that when you get your name tag and other rally info that you add your name to the sign-up list along with a brief description of what your needs are so the right person and time allotment will be done.

Thank you John. At the time I registered I did NOT indicate I needed service, as I kinda thought I'd have things straightened out prior to arriving.
Ray
ps: If you need help with setup or anything please let me know. I'm schedule to arrive 3 days early (Friday the 20th)

Thanks for the offer to help. I'm sure we will have a meaningfull task for you as help is always needed with such an undertaking as this rally is shaping up to be.
As a side note Ray, I was just reviewing the need for tech support list and you were/are on it. Certainly if their are others who DID NOT include themselves on the registration form that have now found they are in need of tech support, by all means CHIME in. Scheduling is important, but we should have enough qualified staff to handle things here.
Looking forward to seeing everyone here in Kerrville, just a little over 3 weeks away!

I am not sure this really counts, but, I would like to arrange for some of the Guru's to review our system and offer suggestions to maximize our setup.
Also, it looks like we will be arriving early as welll. That is, depending on how far I want to travel each day. So, when we arrive, we will make ourselves available as well.
Currently, I am not routing us through SLC, but we could change our route if things needed to be picked up from Motosat. Of course, our compartments in the 5th wheel are not empty enough for a F3 (I don't think). Let me know if you would like me to stop.
Thanks.

Motosat prefers to ship products via common carrier or thru their dealer network as that has proven the most efficient method.
As for your "technical" needs--the highest priority is for those who have existing "problems". You may find after a week of seminars that you can do your own self-diagnostics. Certainly some of the more experienced users should be able to help you as well. Feel free to ask questions--that's one of the many benefits of this program--users helping other users

After the trip from VA to TX, the first person I'll be looking for is the coach washing expert...

As stated on a different thread a couple months ago
quote:For those of you visiting Buckhorn Lake Resort for the 1st time, here are a list of services available in addition to Mobile Lube....Diesel fuel delivery to your rv site, Johns mobile wash service ($1.45 a foot for wash only or $4.00 a foot for wash and wax), Propane delivered to your site on Fridays only, Gil's coach weighing service done on site (schedule directly with gil at 310-245-0750) and last but not least Tull's window screens made here at the park for any coach or rig. We can sign you up when you get here or in advance for any of these services at the office 1-800-568-6458. The park recently resurfaced the tennis courts so bring your rackets.
There are lots of amenities and services available right here at Buckhorn that few RV parks/resorts in the rest of the nation offer. Most all of these services are done at your RV site.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the rally--just come RESTED--there's lots to see and do besides the rally events themselves!

Since the topic here is "service at the rally" I would like to make one clarification about MotoSAT service. This rally IS NOT a MotoSAT rally and there are no guarantees that MotoSAT will be able to perform all or any service on your Datastorm. MotoSAT has really stepped up and they are sending more tech.'s than they have at any previous rally, but please don't think that MotoSAT "must" take care of your problem. This rally has been arranged, planned and paid for by Datastorm users and MotoSAT is not affiliated with the rally in any way. MotoSAT certainly is helping to sponsor some of the rally and its associated costs, but again, this is NOT a MotoSAT rally. I am sure that MotoSAT will do absolutely everything in their power to ensure that every MotoSAT owner leaves this rally with a huge smile on their face and there will be dealers there trying to help with this effort but sometimes "stuff" happens and not everyone gets what they want. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone at this rally and I hope everyone else is excited as well. We will be there by the 19th and we are planning on staying a few days after if necessary. We are down to about 2 weeks so if you are not already headed toward TX, you should be!

I hope that all goes well. I specifically called and asked the MotoSat tech support people if I could get my transmitter switchout done at the rally, and they assured me that it could.

At these rallies in the past I don't know of any service that CAN be done that WASN'T done. In rare cases there is something that just can't be handled. Last year we were pressed for personnel/time, due to the Motosat people having to leave at the end of the first day for a show in New York, and the late arrival of a tech. Still, I think just about everything was handled.
This year we have more days and more people, and that should take care of it.

We also have twice as many attendees. There is no question that MotoSAT will do everything in their power to make everyone happy. I only mention this for someone who might be thinking that "whatever" they want done will be done. Priorities will be set by MotoSAT to ensure that everyone is "at least" on-line and operational before they leave. Other smaller issues will be addressed in some order, but rarely in the order that the people waiting for service would like. While everyone believes that they should be next, please be assured that if you sign up for service every effort will be made to get your service done sometime before the rally ends.

Taking what Bill & Don are saying one step farther, the "Committee" has looked at this issue (and several others) and have implemented several changes which we feel are for the BETTER. As an example, when you "register" and receive your name tag & other information (3:00pm to 5:30pm on Monday 10/23), you will find several SIGN-UP sheets. One of these will cover requests for tech support as well as what seminars you plan to attend (and other things). You may be FIRST on the list, but last to be taken care of, or somewhere in between. Please BE PATIENT! Certain techs have a higher degree of expertise in one area over another. Scheduling is being looked at very carefully this year.
Over a third of the attendees indicated on their registration form that they were in need of Technical support. That sign-up was done in order to make sure that we had ample staff from MotoSAT & private installers to handle all the requests. Personal requests/promises done over the phone aren't nearly as critical as getting your name on the SIGN-UP SHEETS at the rally itself.
Where we have more than one seminar in a particular time slot, we will have a sign-up sheet. This is being done because of the size of our rally and size of meeting rooms.
We also need VOLUNTEERS and will have sign-up sheets for that as well.
The "COMMITTEE" has done a lot of planning this year and we just ask for your help & understanding. We've done our best to make sure this is the BEST (& biggest) rally yet. You might want to be on the COMMITTEE for the next rally, so you can learn first hand what the four of us have done--we'll have a sign-up sheet for that TOO!
The WELCOME mat is out, see everyone in 13 days!

Just a note to THANK everyone that's behind the scenes and making this happen...As I've been involved in two 70 rig rallies for the RV website I co-own,I know there's a LOT of work. In that vein,as I will be "solo" for this one I plan on volunteering to help where needed.
